Here’s some good news! You don’t have to go glam to get your man’s attention. 24 year-old Simon Mitchell, a heating engineer from Monmouth, loves Saturday mornings with his girlfriend of 18 months, Becky. “I hang out with the lads on a Friday night and Becks goes to the pub with her mates. When I get up for work on Saturday morning Becks could stay comfy in bed – but she doesn’t. She shoves on a vest and some sweat pants, scrapes her hair back, and drives me to the station. She looks better then than any girl in any bar, no matter how tarty they’re dressed!”

But there’s always a reason to buy a new frock. “I love it when my girlfriend does the big hair, fake tan, high heels thing,” smiles Paul Donarski, a systems manager. “Danielle and I went to a charity event in Cardiff. I got changed at work and arranged to meet her at the bash. When my taxi arrived she was waiting in the foyer”. The 21-year-old continued, “She always looks great but this night she looked truly amazing. I had to pinch myself that she was my date”.

“Stacey and I don’t live together yet,” says Ian McMillan, from Corby. “But when she’s been out with her mates on the weekend she calls to say hi on the way home”. The 26-year-old driver appreciates the gesture. “I love that – and then I relax. I know she’s happy, she’s safe, and even though all the blokes in there hit on her, I’m the one who’s still on her mind”.

“I love it when my girlfriend is nice to my younger sister, who has OCD,” says Padraig Browne from Dublin. “Just the fact that she will take the time to talk and be patient makes me realise she’s the real deal”. Kindness to family and friends could demonstrate an unselfish nature – he’s pleased you’ll look after him in the future – and is reckons you’d be a good mum to his kids!

Sharing sexy moments is always a winner – especially if you can’t resist getting saucy under everyone’s nose! “We were out having dinner with Daisy’s parents,” grins Jeremy Thwales, 30, a teacher from Surrey. “When I bumped into her in the corridor on the way back from the loo”.
“In less than a minute I was sat back at the table, listening to her dad talk about drainage. But she’d had enough time to talk dirty then grab me and cop a good feel!”

“My girlfriend Dionne is pretty shy most of the time,” says Bristol-born Adam Jones-Davis. “But she’s got another side of her. She is really bossy in bed!”

But before everyone gets up in arms there’s rather more to the story! “You know, I’m all hot, smelly and sweaty when I come home from rugby training. So she makes me stand in the kitchen and strip. Next she’ll throw her own clothes in the washer. Then when she’s naked she’ll sit on top of the worktop and demand to see what I can do with my tackle again!”

Being new parents can challenge a relationship - but it can also bring the two of you closer together. Proud dad Joel Springer explains. “We’ve had a few ups and downs since our son, Ben, was born. It’s been ten months of sleepless nights, dirty nappies, and not a lot of pre-baby-style sex!”
“Sometimes I wake up and the bed is empty. But then I’ll go down the hall and see Ellie, still in flannelette PJs, dozing in our son’s room. I just well up inside when I see her fast asleep, still sitting up - with baby Ben sound asleep on her chest”.

Having a passion in life gets men all excited – as long as you leave enough time for him! Essex lad Dan Ewing, 23, knows all about it. “I don’t see my girlfriend as often as I’d like because she’s always off ski-ing. It’s either weekends at the indoor slope, or holidays spent competing”.
“At first I was frustrated she was away so much, and then I saw her take part in a downhill challenge. She’s got such passion and she’s so exciting – just being around her makes me feel more alive!”

“My girlfriend gets drunk on two Margaritas, and I think that’s brilliant!” says salesman Brummie Ajaz Dural, 22. “She doesn’t drink much, so she’s a real lightweight - but she’ll try a couple of cocktails on special occasions. She’s normally very reserved, but suddenly she’s girly, and giggly, and she says she wants to get married. She’s the girl of my dreams – who wouldn’t want that?”

Lonsdale Yates, a 31-year-old PR from London, explains: “Katy and I go to a lot of work events, and since she has a similar job to me, she has to network the room”.
“We’ll both schmooze with the guests who’ve been invited. I know she’s flirting. But then she’ll catch my eye from far away, and I’m happy. I know that few people see Katy with her guard down. When we’re home alone, I get her true self”.

Smell is a hugely important sense, with one whiff of your favourite cologne reminding him of your passionate days before. Andy Simpson, 29, from the Wirral knows all about this. “I split up with Amy a few months back, then by chance I ran into her on a night out – we got back together”.
“She’d had her hair cut and coloured, and she was wearing a dress I’d never seen. But she hugged me and I could smell her favourite shampoo on her. It made me think of our first mornings together, where we’d sit together, holding each other, and I’d take hours to brush her hair.”

“I love it when my girlfriend smiles, and she shows off the cute gap she has between her front teeth,” says groundsman Felix Gardener, 27, from Cheshire. “She’s self conscious about it and tries to disguise it – but that gap makes her even more special in my eyes”. We’ve all got something about our appearance we’re insecure about – but that’s often the thing that sets us apart! “Everyone is different,” says Felix. “Why not celebrate the fact?”

“When I’m sitting on the sofa my girlfriend Joanna comes up behind me, and softly kisses my neck,” says courier Ariel Vivar, 27, from Clapham. “She’s telling me she wants my attention – and she’s got it. I forget everything else”! We recommend this move whenever your man is engrossed in a submarine documentary on the History Channel. But remember the principle of cause and effect! Says Ariel, “The last time I pulled her right over the back of the sofa – she landed right on my lap!”
