This is the only bridal designer to sell out on Net-a-Porter worldwide and here's why the dresses are so damn popular
She’s the wedding dress designer who made bridal separates a thing, she’s got a rooster of celebrity clients and she’s all about celebrating every body shape. Of course we’re talking about Kate Halfpenny, the owner and designer behind British bridal brand Halfpenny London.
Her whimsical, bohemian bridal mix-and-match pieces have been worn by Millie Mackintosh on her wedding to Hugo Taylor, Vogue Williams for her London nuptials to Spencer Matthews and Lydia Millen when she wed fellow vlogger Ali Gordon.
As well as being a self-confessed obsessive when it comes to fabrics and embellishment (all pieces are handmade in England) the designer is probably one of the most inclusive wedding dress designers out there, offering bridal options to fit all different shapes and sizes with samples available to try on in her Bloomsbury boutique in sizes 8-22 but they can make all styles in any size required. No bride is ever turned away. Fabrics are responsibly sourced too and off-cuts recycled into design details to avoid waste.
Back in 2017, Halfpenny London landed on Net-a-Porter giving brides all over the world access to some exclusive pieces in just a few clicks. The Turner fringed satin skirt has been another hugely popular choice for brides, often teamed with the Kelly off-the-shoulder stretch-duchesse satin bustier top.
