Five New Ways To Wear Your Eye Make-Up

Need help recreating the hottest red carpet and catwalk eye make-up looks? We're here for you! We've picked five hot new looks from the red carpet and the spring/summer 2012 catwalks and broken down how you can get the look at home. Simple! Mascara wands at the ready...
GoRunwayLook One: Barely There
As Seen At: Erdem S/S 2012
The Look: Created by Andrew Gallimore for MAC, this look is all about soft and sultry sex appeal: pure romanticism.
The GLAMOUR.com Shopping List: Burberry Fresh Glow, (£34, www.harrods.com); Vaseline Lip Therapy Original, (£1.45, available nationwide); Estee Lauder Sumptous Extreme Mascara in Extreme Copper, (£22, www.esteelauder.co.uk); MAC Mascara Wands/Disposable, (£3.50, www.maccosmetics.co.uk)

Step One: Prep Skin
This look is all about natural beauty and clear, glossy skin: so prep is key. Apply Burberry’s Fresh Glow all over the face, including the upper lid up to the brow line. Next, take a fingertip of Vaseline and rub gently into the upper lid and below the lash line to create a glossy, dewy finish.
The catwalk girls left the look at this, but if you won’t be seen dead out and about this naked (make-up-wise), follow on to step two...
Step Two: Lashes
If you don’t deal in life without mascara (we don’t blame you), add the lightest layer of a natural shade to finish the look. We love Estee Lauder’s Sumptous Extreme Mascara, applied with a fresh disposable mascara wand by MAC for the perfect finish.
This eye works best with a matte faded love-drunk lip.
PA PhotosLook Two: The Big Smoke
As Seen On: Emma Watson
The Look: Unashamedly glamorous, this heavy smoky eye requires a slick and sophisticated hairstyle, a bare lip to dress it down, and bags of attitude to pull it off.
The GLAMOUR.com Shopping List: Elizabeth Arden Advanced Eye Fix Primer, (£20, www.debenhams.co.uk); Givenchy Le Prisme Yeux in Celeste, (£21, www.houseoffraser.co.uk); Bourjois Volumiser Mascara, (£10.49, www.boots.com); Estee Lauder Pure Colour Intense Kajal Eyeliner, (£16, www.esteelauder.co.uk); Barry M Dazzle Dust in Gold, (£4.59, www.barrym.com); Barry M Loose Body Glitter in White, (£3.99, www.barrym.com); Ombre Solo No1 Midnight Black, (£20, www.yslbeauty.co.uk)

Step One: Base & Shadow
With a heavy make-up look like this one, you need a decent base. Apply a layer of Elizabeth Arden’s Eye-Fix Primer before you get started. Next, apply a smudging of Givenchy’s Celeste shadow into the inner corner of the upper and lower lids, to about halfway across the lid.
Now take YSL’s Midnight Black shadow and using the brush applicator, sweep across the outer half of the upper lid, smudging up slightly toward the brow line with a finger. Apply a light line of shadow across the rest of the lower lash line.
Step Two: Lashes & Lines
Once you’re happy with the shadow, which should be smudgy on the upper lid, apply a clean line of Estee Lauder’s Kajal liner on the upper and lower lids, close to the lash line.
Follow this with lashings of Bourjois Volumiser Mascara: after all, this look is all about impact.
Step Three: Glitter
Feel free to stop here if you don’t intend to turn heads. The final flourish for this fabulous look is all that glitters. Dab a touch of primer or Vaseline onto the outside corners of your eyes and then turn to king of glitter, Barry M, to finish the look. Add your favourite glitter using your fingertip, before dusting your cheeks with a large powder brush to clear any fallen particles. Voila!
GoRunwayLook Three: Colour Pop
As Seen At: David Koma S/S 2012
The Look: Created by Mel Arter for MAC, this stand-out spring/summer look is all about a playful hint of colour on the inside lower lash-line.
The GLAMOUR.com Shopping List: MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in Hi-Def Cyan, (£13, www.maccosmetics.co.uk); MAC Clear Lipglass, (£11.50, www.maccosmetics.co.uk); Perfection Illusions Perfect Eye Brightener, (£6, www.marksandspencer.com)

Get The Look
Good news! This fresh spring look is easy-peasy. First, take up your Perfection Eye Brightener and line your upper lash line and smudge in. Next, go crazy (but not too crazy) with the wonderful MAC Chromographic Cyan Pencil and add a line from the very inner corner of your lower lash line, drawing outward to the middle of your eye. This should be a heavy line at the inner corner, becoming lighter.
Finish with a touch of MAC’s Clear Lipglass rubbed over your upper lid with a finger for a fresh, glossy finish. Don’t you feel more cheerful already?
PA PhotosLook Four: La-La-Lashes
As Seen On: Nicola Roberts
The Look: All about full-volume, natural-looking lashes, this look is flirty and feminine, subtly glamorous and perfect for any occasion.
The GLAMOUR.com Shopping List: Chanel Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Grenat, (£18, for stockists call 0207 493 3836); Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Bone, (£15.50, www.bobbibrown.co.uk); Dainty Doll Lashes Something Wonderful, (£7.50, www.harrods.com); YSL False Lash Effect Shocking Mascara in shade 3, (£22.50, www.yslbeauty.co.uk)
Get The Look
Step One: Shadow, Line & Lashes
Sweep Bobbi Brown’s Bone shadow across your upper lid, not taking the colour past the socket crease. Next, add a layer of YSL’s False Lash Mascara (in a natural brown shade) to your upper and lower lashes – as well as adding a layer of mascara to the false lashes your about to apply.
Take up the Chanel Grenat liner and add a smudgy line around the outer edges of the upper and lower lash lines, meeting in a spot of smudgy colour.
Step Two: Lash Time
All that remains is to apply these luscious, natural looking Dainty Doll lashes. Remove them from the case and apply a line of the lash glue, cotton bud at the ready. Leave the glue to turn slightly tacky, and then dab onto your lash line, pressing down in stages using the cotton bud, starting from the inner corner of the eye.
Leave to dry, and then flutter your way through any red carpet event (or, you know, your weekly supermarket shop).
GoRunwayLook Five: All About Kohl
As Seen At: Moschino S/S 2012
The Look: Created by Tom Pecheux for MAC, this look is all about smudgy kohl eyeliner and grunge-goddess sex appeal.
The GLAMOUR.com Shopping List: Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Éclosion, (£37, for stockists call 0207 493 3836); Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara, (£6.99, available nationwide); Bourjois Smoky Eyeliner in Extra Black, (£5.49, www.boots.com); MAC Strobe Cream, (£12, www.maccosmetics.co.uk)
Get The Look
Step One: Shadow & Liner
Kohl rules for spring, and while the liner is the star of this show, give yourself a head start by sweeping a warm, light shadow from Chanel’s new Éclosion palette over the upper lid.
Now for the fun part: enter Bourjois’ Smoky liner, complete with blending brush. Add a heavy line to the upper and lower lash lines, and then smudge gently outwards using the brush, taking the outer corner up into a soft and smoky feline flick.
Step Two: Lashes
Apply a layer of Rimmel’s Scandal Eyes Mascara to the upper and lower lashes.
Finish with a dab of MAC’s brilliant Strobe Cream just below the brows and on the cheekbones – adding a glossy finish to this grunge-tastic look.
