But, though her career might have been on the up, it’s a shame the same couldn’t be said for her style. Matching your tights to your hair to your handbag does not a chic look make - and the same was true then.

Plus, she’d already got the art of customising down pat - she admitted that she spent ages cutting the shoulder pads out of her dress before she could leave the house for the event.

Just a few days later, the reason behind that secret smile was revealed when Fearne announced her pregnancy.
