The best exfoliating gloves and mitts could give you the smoothest skin ever, so what are you waiting for?
Summer is here, and that means exfoliating gloves and mitts are back on our beauty agendas.
While we definitely don’t recommend that you use them on your face (we have face exfoliators for that), we can’t sing exfoliating gloves' praises enough for the rest of your body. A good pair of exfoliating gloves is a must-have in anyone’s bathroom, they’re just better at reaching all the nooks and crannies your loofah can’t.
Do exfoliating gloves really work? What are the benefits of exfoliating gloves?
Exfoliating gloves are super effective when it comes to removing dead skin from your body without having to use much effort. This means you don’t have to scrub like your life depends on it – you’re not trying to get down to the bone here, people.
As well as removing dead skin, the benefits of using exfoliating gloves are plentiful. By regularly exfoliating your body with gloves, you’ll achieve brighter skin, prevent ingrown hairs, improve your blood flow, reduce breakouts and Keratosis Pilaris (‘chicken’ skin), as well as remove any fake tan build-up if you’re an avid tanner.

Is it good to use exfoliating gloves every day?
Using exfoliating gloves daily promotes the flow of your blood, giving you that glowy and fresh skin look - who doesn’t want that? If you have particularly sensitive skin, however, perhaps start by using them a couple of times a week or every other day and see how you get on.
How to use exfoliating gloves
All that’s necessary when using exfoliating gloves or an exfoliating mitt is gentle brush-like strokes and circular motions on your body to remove everything that needs to be. Harsh pressure is only going to irritate your skin (and hurt), so be gentle! It can be tempting to go in with force, especially on areas that are particularly dry or have build-up, but patience is key.
How often should you wash exfoliating gloves? How long can you use exfoliating gloves?
The whole purpose of exfoliating gloves is to remove dead skin cells from your body, so even after rinsing them out there will be remnants of said skin tangled up in the fibres. It’s a good idea to replace your exfoliating gloves every three to four weeks, so look to investing in a pair that’s not harmful to the environment where possible.
