11 booze-free beverages for Dry January
January. The bleakest month of the year, right? Wrong. The partying may have died down, the bank balance may be at an all-time-low and you may have embarked on Dry January but it's not all bad. We've rounded up the best spots to sip on a booze-free beverage this month. Sit back, relax and enjoy detoxing before you retox come February...
Wright Brothers Soho
The Soho seafood restaurant has created a range of mocktails especially for Dry January. With Asian seafood on offer, we recommend ordering the Mind Cleanser (apple juice, celery infused syrup, fresh cucumber, fresh parsley and lime juice) or the Immune Booster (lemon juice, fresh ginger, chilli infused syrup, cranberry juice and grapefruit juice). The latter goes especially well with oysters.

Grain Store
One of the best things about going dry is that you can have a late night (booze-free) tipple and skip paying for a taxi to get home. Cruise back after a Grain Store mocktail. We recommend Roman Redhead (Red grape juice, beetroot, verjus), Chamomile Lemonade (Chamomile syrup, fresh lemon, soda) or Rose Iced Tea (Black tea, rose petals, anise essence). In fact, why not have all three?

This Central London spot is ready for those living the liquor-free lifestyle. Enjoy a cleansing Cucumber Mint Martini (Fresh cucumber, Apple & Cranberry Juice, Elderflower Cordial and Mint), a Bloody Shame (a Bloody Mary without the voddy) or one of their No-jitos (available in apple & ginger, passion fruit, kiwi fruit, mixed berry or elderflower and apple.)

Sea Containers at Mondrian London
Opened in September, Sea Containers is still the "it" place to be spotted. With New York chef Seamus Mullen heading up the restaurant, you can fine dine before quenching your thirst. Our favourite non-alcoholic refresher is the ginger, kale, peach, lemon and raw honey juice. Be warned though, you may end up ordering them repeatedly.

The Zetter Townhouse
As the spot famed for having some of the best cocktails in London, you’d be forgiven for a lack of enthusiasm at the prospect of drinking here during Dry January. Luckily the mixologists have a list of mocktails and juices to coax you in. The Citrus Sherbert (homemade sherbet, citrus and soda) is ideal for those with a sweet tooth but if you’re after a refresher try their Elderflower Fizz (Elderflower cordial, lemon juice and soda) for added sparkle.

Cloud 23
Long, refreshing and dry, Cloud 23’s Salute the Sun is their bestseller (pink grapefruit juice, cranberries honey, lime and raspberry) but you may well be partial to a Cherry Blossom Skies (cream fizz, cherry, almond and citrus) or a Honey Moon (lavender, lychee, passion fruit). This is one of the best places for mocktails in Manchester.

Dishoom
Opened only last month, the latest Dishoom restaurant is the largest yet. Set over four floors, nip down to the basement bar and sip on a sugarcane juice served with salt and lime. It’s one of the best way to get a taste of Bombay in the capital.

The Rummer Hotel
It’s a tall order to choose between the Faux-jito (apple juice, peppermint cordial, mint leaves, lime) and the Temperance Tea (Mr Fitzpatrick's blood tonic, lemon juice, cold black tea) at Bristol’s Rummer Hotel but if the bar's reputation is anything to go on, you'll be happy with either.

The Riding House Café’s 'Riding (Driving) Cocktail’ list caters for the teetotallers - even if you’re only doing it for a month. Sip on a Ginger Passion (Passion fruite, Grenadine, Apple Juice and ginger beer) or a Fitzrovia Breeze (Kiwi, Cucumber, Elderflower Cordial and Apple Juice) whilst you devour dinner - the brasserie is nailing the trend of raw food right now.

The Timberyard
Found in the heart of Edinburgh, The Timberyard’s co-owner makes all of the sodas in-house, buying absolutely no mixers in. Offering seasonal drinks, the range is called Cry Baby Soda and this January you can sip on St. Clements, Woodruff & Meadowsweet Cream Soda, the super-trendy Sea Buckthorn or the Pickled Blueberry Soda.
