If you feel like you’ve been sprinkled with pixie dust every time Disney announces a new live-action remake, then you may want to sit down for this.
Disney has announced all the classic movies they’re bringing to life over the next few years and it looks like all our prayers have been answered. From a live action of everyone's favourite girl power movie Mulan to the re-making of 80s classic The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey and all the way back to Lady and the Tramp and Cruella, these are all our favourite live-action remakes – past, present and future. Hercules
Release Date: 2022, according to IMDB
Cast: TBCBack in April, it was announced that everyone's favourite 1997 animated classic Hercules was getting the live-action remake treatment. Since then though, little has been revealed. There have been plenty of casting rumours, from Ariana Grande as Meg to Zac Efron as Hercules. A fake cast list even started doing the rounds on social media recently, which falsely billed Noah Centineo in the lead role alongside Jodie Comer.

Cast: Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen, Jason Scott LeeMulan is next on the lineup of Disney’s live action repertoire, for which Walt Disney Studios released a full trailer last year. Much like our celebration of the reboot of Beauty and the Beast in 2017 and the 2019-released Aladdin, our sense of nostalgia is bubbling over in anticipation of the next Disney Princess of our childhood to be recreated.

Cast: Camila Cabello, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter and Missy Elliott, apparently.We don't know much about the exact plot, but James Corden will be producing the film and with a cast like that, we're pretty darn excited.

Cast: Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy, AwkwafinaThe re-imagining of the original 1989 animation about a 16-year-old mermaid who makes a dangerous deal to become a human confirmed Halle Bailey will take on the role of Ariel, with Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. We don't have a release date, but filming and production is rumoured to start in April 2020.

Cast: Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel FryThree years ago, Disney broke the news that La La Land star Emma Stone was set to play the evil fur-wearing Cruella de Vil in a live-action prequel of the classic 1996 movie starring Glenn Close. We couldn’t really imagine the fun-loving, hilarious and slightly goofy Stone playing such a deliciously wicked character. Well, until Disney just released a first look of Stone in full costume and we are kind of terrified.

Cast: TBCAnother Disney villain that gives us nightmares. Chernabog is the terrifying villain from the Micky-movie Fantasia. Depicting the devil - this could be the darkest remake of all.

Cast: Eva Green, Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito
Tim Burton is the director of live action Dumbo highlighting the darker sides to the bullying storyline. Just don't hope for a happy ending.
DISNEYMary Poppins Return (2018)
Cast: Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep, Emily Mortimer, Ben Whishaw
This is the brave sequel taken on after the fabulous performance from Julie Andrews in 1964. The story follows the story of Jane and Michael Banks in their adult lives, visited by Mary Poppins for a second time.

Guy Ritchie's Aladdin sees Will Smith as the head-to-toe blue Genie and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine with the classic hits, Friend Like Me, and Naomi's rendition of A Whole New World. Major. And this year it was revealed to TheWrap that the $1 billion dollar-grossing film will receive a sequel. Watch this space.

Justin Theroux, Tessa Thompson and Janelle Monae star in Disney's remake of Lady and the Tramp, which will feature real dogs. What could be better?

Cast: TBCIt’s about time they properly brought the first feature length Disney movie to life, originally created in 1937. It is set to feature Snow White’s sister Rose Red who helps the seven dwarfs save her sister from the evil queen and the poisoned apple. The new adaptation is said to feature new songs by songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land and The Greatest Snowman).

Cast: Reese WitherspoonAnother Peter Pan remake? Oh, go on then. There is actually another two versions set to focus on the original story of Peter Pan from 1953. One of the most talked about is ‘Tink’ set to focus on the pixie’s life and feature Reese Witherspoon.
