David Bowie wins two posthumous awards at the 2017 BRIT Awards
David Bowie was named Best British Male Artist at last night's BRIT Awards, and received the honour of Best Album as well.
The star, who died in January 2016, beat off Craig David, Kano, Michael Kiwanuka and Skepta for the Best Male award, which was collected on his behalf by Michael C Hall.
Hall recently took on the lead role in Lazarus, the Bowie-penned musical based on Walter Tevis's The Man Who Fell to Earth.
Later in the evening, David Bowie's Blackstar won Best Album, and Bowieโs film director son Duncan Jones took to the stage to accept the award from guest presenter Noel Gallagher.
Duncan Jones took to the stage, saying: โI lost my dad last year but I also became a dad. I was spending a lot of time, after getting over the shock, trying to work out what I would want my son to know about his granddad.โ
โIt would be the thing that most of his fans have taken over the last 50 years. Heโs always been there supporting people who think they are a little bit weird or a little bit strange, a little bit different. Heโs always been there for them.โ
โThis award is for all the kooks, and all the people that make the kooks,โ he concluded.
