A tribute to the brilliance of 90s curtains

We recently talked about the return of 90s beauty trends, with the likes of Kylie Jenner and Miley Cyrus being inspired by iconic looks from the era. And this got us thinking, which other awesome 90s trends could be on the brink of return?

Bingo: Curtains. We've missed them too. So in anticipation of the soon-to-return brilliance of centre-parted floppy man-locks, (Zayn's already sort of attempted to bring the look back before panic-shaving his head in an effort to take it back,) we would like to celebrate the greatest 90s and 00s curtains icons. In case you were wondering, after extensive research we've learnt that peak curtains year was 1995, FYI.

The year: 1995
The mane: It is a well-known fact that in the 90s, Johnny Depp was the dictator of all things cool. Mr Depp has stuck with his signature curtains hairstyle over the years, but peak year was '95.

The year: 1995
The mane: Did anyone else have a pencil tin at school with Paul Nicholls' face and highlighted centre-parted locks on it? No? Sucks to be you. As an aside, no hairdresser should have agreed to perform this cut on someone with a wayward cows lick like Paul's.

The year: 1995
The mane: Star of Scream, even Skeet's hairstyle was mildly sinister at the peak of his fame. Those back-combed locks could catch and trap an unwitting hand within seconds.

The mane: In theory Leo's gel-laden side-swept locks are a little gross. But on Leo, swoooooooooooooon.

The year: 1999
The mane: A man of many manes, DB was a bit of a trailblazer in the men's hair arena in the 90s. But his carefully styled curtains were one of his most iconic looks. And you can see why; so crispy.

The year: 1999
The mane: Aged 12, Aaron already had teams of young girls in love with him. Thanks, in large part, to his beautiful blonde locks.

The mane: ...Older brother Nick was rocking the exact same style, and breaking just as many hearts with his boy band appeal.

The year: 1992
The mane: While there's no forgiving this suit, whatever the decade, Brad's wet-look locks are a perfect example of disheveled curtains. Or 'partly-drawn*' curtains, if you will.

The mane: Hot on the tail of floppy-haired Irish boyband Boyzone's success came Westlife, who were pretty much the same, down to the done-not-done hairstyles. Brian led the charge.

The mane: In 1993, band of the moment Take That had an enforced band hairstyle. Howard's slightly wavy hair isn't the natural choice for curtains, but hey, it was the 90s.
