Cher made her first award show performance in 15 years (and we bet Kim K is excited)
Cher brought the house down at yesterday's Billboard Music Awards as she took the stage to accept an honourable Icon Award, and make her first award show performance in 15 years.
Of course the crowd went wild when Cher stepped out in two outfits that were bold AF. We're talking pink heart shaped nipple pasties, platinum blonde wig, and all shimmer everything. She followed that with a black sheer ensemble, which she teamed with a leather jacket and huge afro wig. Basically the exact outfit she wore in the music video for Turn Back Time. SLAY!
The singer is 71 years old and celebrating 53 years of her legendary career in the music biz. The Billboard Icon award couldn't be more suited for anyone in the audience that night. And it seemed like the A-list agreed.
Kim Kardashian-West spend most of her weekend sharing throwback snaps of the singer on social media and called her an "Armenian queen". While Gwen Stefani, who presented Cher with the award, called her "truly the definition of an icon".
Cher performed to two of her biggest hits, "Believe" and "Turn Back Time", and gave an extremely humbled speech:
"So, I've wanted to do what I do since I was four years-old. And I've been doing it for 53 years. That is not an applause thing, I'm 71 yesterday". She continued as the crowd hooted: "And I can do a five-minute plank, okay? Just saying."
Cher went on to thank her mother who once told her: "You're not going to be the smartest, you're not going to be the prettiest, you're not going to be the most talented, but you're going to be special."
And added: "I think luck has so much to do with with my success," she said. "I think it was mostly luck and a little bit of something thrown in".
We disagree Cher, you're pure raw talent.
