Oh, what a night at the Somerset House Summer Series. Tom Odell has come from nowhere this year and stolen our hearts - and we can't imagine a more fitting venue on a warm summer evening to listen to one of our favourite albums of the year from one of the most talented Brits of the moment. Every note of hits Another Love, Hold Me and Long Way Down was pitch perfect and he even treated us to a cover of The Beatles' Get Back (which sounded amazing).

Last night we checked out the Icelandic band at Somerset House as part of the week-long Somerset Series. The self-described ‘folkie’ pop group, led by Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, kicked off their set with tingling white lights and booming opera music, and showed no sign of slowing down from there. Predictably, their single Little Talks was a crowd pleaser, but King And Lionheart and Dirty Paws also whipped the audience into a wave. Nanna, wearing a rain-ready poncho (apparently the band had cold weather in Portugal) led into Love, love, love with a simple explanation: “This song is about love.” Sold.

It was a very pleasant experience... [but] you guys are shit loads better than that gig ever was."
