How to choose the perfect 'casual bridal' look perfect for a micro wedding, according to the royal's go-to designer
The pandemic has turned our lives upside down and as well as restricting our social lives, one of the main industries impacted is the wedding world.
With weddings now capped at just 15 people, nuptials are looking a lot different to last year's. Whilst thousands of brides won't be having the big white wedding they'd planned, that's not to say that a 'micro wedding' can't be just as special - albeit different.
As well as cutting down on decor and a lavish band, many brides are plumping for more casual outfits for their big day. As Suzannah Crabb, owner of celebrity-adored fashion brand Suzannah London, explains: "We have found that brides who have shopped from us in recent months have opted for jumpsuits, and softer shirt dress styles. Pieces that are feminine and pretty for their more intimate weddings. The brides have mentioned that they would prefer something more laidback for this time, and then are prepared to upscale to something more lavish and fun for a big party or celebration when rules allow."

If you're a bride-to-be looking to do the same, Suzannah notes that the biggest bridal trends right now are 'softer, romantic pieces...something a little more carefree and certainly more versatile', with separates, softer tea dresses and playful jumpsuits reigning supreme.
With many brides going ahead with a smaller 15-person wedding and planning a bigger 'party' for 2021, Suzannah notes that brides are choosing two outfits; a more pared back look for their nuptials and a more playful look for the party. "I sense a fabulous jumpsuit or playful gown would be perfect of the party afterwards. Think bright colours, supersized detailing, fun prints, magnificent proportions; be it fun collars or huge buttons," she said.
