Since there's no better time than the dawn of a new year to reorganise your beauty stash, Boxing Day beauty sales are big news every year. Sure, discarding the tube of mascara that went out of date circa 2018 and finally recycling those empty bottles of shampoo is satisfying, but we'd be lying if we said a sanitised makeup bag squashed any desire for newness. Often, a sizeable clear-out draws attention to the products in our haircare and skincare routines we're missing (and which need replacing). As such, Boxing Day beauty deals come in VERY handy.
If you need to stock up on your favourite moisturiser, you've been desperate to try an LED face mask for time or you've hit pan on your eye cream, the January sales are the best time to do it. And even more so this year. In fact, many of our favourite online beauty stores are offering price drops that are just as big as their Black Friday beauty deals were.
Of course, under normal circumstance, the Boxing Day sales would see masses of eager shoppers form (not so) orderly queues outside of their favourite high street stores. Elbows at the ready. But this year, with the speedy spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant considered, it's much safer to shop from the comfort of your sofa.
Though we wouldn't recommend spending your entire festive break scrolling through hugely discounted makeup, skincare and haircare, with fewer plans than usual with year, we'd be lying if we said we weren't going to be making a few purchases. Will Boxing Day beauty sales be better than Black Friday?
Typically, the best Black Friday deals will be found on higher ticket items like IPL laser hair removal devices and epilators, with prices significantly lower than they are in other sales. When it comes to lower ticket items - particularly across makeup and skincare - there's not too much of a difference in the deals offered. Take Beauty Bay (once more), for example.
