These are the very best pairs of trainer socks (that don't slip down!)
Okay, we know there are endless bigger worries in the world right now, but since when did it become so hard to find a good old trainer sock?
You know the ones, we all had thousands of them spilling out of our gym bags back at school when they were the height of fashion. We don't remember ever having such struggles back then? Or maybe we were less fussy...
Either way, the good ones are slim pickings. And if you too have recently upped your exercise game now that the gyms are back open you may be realising something similar. Because while longer, ankle socks may be more 'fashionable' right now the mark that the elastic leaves behind is not, and it's a partiularly bad look if you're heading straight out post-work out wearing a nice midi dress or cropped trouser.
In the name of research - both professional and personal - we've tried out a fair few trainer socks over recent years (time to get those violins out) and we just couldn't find our match. They either poked out too high over the top of the trainer, or slipped down to the toes. It was a tricky old time.
Finally, we're very pleased to report, we've found some winners. Just the right amount of elasticity - crucial! - they also span a smorgasbord of shades, from classic white for the serious gym-goers (nothing says 'this is not my first time in here' quite like a slick white kit) to cute pastels and even some gently patterned ones.
