Superfood is a term that gets thrown around a lot. But what actually makes a superfood "super"? Despite celebrity chefs like Jamie Oliver and food bloggers like Deliciously Ella waxing lyrical on them, many people still don't know why tumeric is better than thyme.

Here's the deal: superfoods are super because of the amount of vitamins, minerals and nutrients they contain. They are natural, nutrience-dense foods that boost immunity, increase energy levels, fight disease and help people to maintain a healthy weight. They're diet game-changers but, the key to getting the most out of them, is knowing which superfood does what.

Dark Chocolate
Benefits: Yes, you can benefit from eating chocolate as long as it’s dark. The dark variety contain antioxidants, specifically flavonols, that have been proven to lower blood pressure and increase blood flow. But, make sure to choose dark chocolate that it at least 70% cocoa - the higher the percentage, the better it is for you.
How to get it into your diet: Eat it as a pudding, cook or bake with it or grate it into a smoothie or yoghurt. Or simply just have a couple of squares after dinner instead of pudding.

Benefits: Eggs are packed full of protein and that’s why gym buffs swear by them.
