Wild guess: if you're a regular GLAMOUR reader, you probably already know a hell of a lot about skincare super-brand Kiehl's. It'd be no surprise: Kiehl's has 170 years' (!) worth of experience (it's actually their 170th birthday this year) formulating moisturisers/face masks/cleansers that are genuinely good for the skin, meaning their products are a stalwart staple in the fine-tuned skincare routines of most editors and influencers around. But first, if you're not familiar, here's a bit of a (fun) history lesson. The first Kiehl's store opened on the corner of 13th Street and Third Avenue in New York City back in 1851. In 1854, pharmacist John Kiehl purchased the apothecary and began operations under the name of “Kiehl Pharmacy” - a name which fit hand-in-hand with their pharmaceutical, science-led approach to skincare. They were actually one of the first beauty brands in the States to list their ingredients on their products, so they've always been progressive, forward-thinking and totally transparent with their consumers.

This approach has stuck, and many of the products launched by accomplished chemist and son of Kiehl's apprentice, Aaron Morse, as early as the 1960s remain the brand's bestsellers today.
