Much like its sister property in Ibiza, 7Pines Sardinia is heavy on the vibes. We’re talking live DJs while you’re sipping on cocktails at sunset, three restaurants each with their own bar attached, and two glorious swimming pools set in landscaped gardens (though palms are more prolific than the namesake pines). The decor throughout is decidedly minimalist, mostly comprising white-washed walls, blue stripes and tiled floors, with the Laguna Villa suites being a favourite for groups of friends or families (we also love the rooms with sea-facing sun terraces, great for some sunrise yoga or just a coffee).
Rooms come with their own bar – think full-size bottles of spirits and fresh herbs – for anyone wishing to flex their mixologist muscles, too. With this criteria in mind, Petra Segreta is one of the most romantic hotels on the island, nestled in the hilltops above the picture-postcard town of San Pantaleo below. Hotel Albero Capovolto
If the Hotel Albero Capovolto feels like a home away from home, that’s because it once was. Back in the 1970s, it was the summer home of a family of seven, whose patriarch and matriarch had fallen in love with the place on their honeymoon. Fast-forward to today, and the youngest of their brood, Alessandro, has transformed it into a five-star, seven-room hotel, surrounded by lush gardens and olive trees.
