Goodbye London, Hello Milan
We never quite put the full stop at the end of LFW but that's probably because as soon as we saw the last model strut in London town we were in full prep for MFW - Milan Fashion Week.
So here we are - 6am on Thursday morning waiting to board a plane, packed with who's who of the industry. We'll be bringing you all the backstage beauty gossip from Italy's fashion capital; think Prada, Etro, Marni and more.
Next stop... Milano!
Snow White
At Ermanno Scervino! "We've put concealer where needed and brushed up brows," says face painter Jessica Nezda. "But the key is the eyes. Using white/silver pigment (£16.50, MAC) we've created a snow white effect."
Major Model Alert
We found Toni Garnn and friend Anais Mal doing their thing backstage.
As for the slick side parting ponytails by Gabriele Trezzi... Seen this season at DKNY, Victoria Beckham and Daks. A SS13 hair trend in the making we think!
Lunch Time
For some! We overheard the models questioning why they only get croissants when a spread like this is on offer at Ermanno Scervino.
We don't blame them - cured meats, truffle pasta, cheese boards and custard tarts.
Sorry girls, you have to be with the designer to get in there.
Siesta Time
She may not have had the lunch but Cara Delevingne is having the siesta.
Eyes closed while she's preened and prepped for the catwalk.
A Moschino Kind of Morning
Up with the birds today, but totally worth it to see these 60's bombshells backstage at Moschino.
"Glam, all out, fantasy beauty," says make up artist Tom Pecheux. "We've used lipstick in Morange (£14) MAC and we wanted some serious look-at-me eyes; so we've used fake lashes on the top and bottom. It's Moschino! It's Milan! We're having fun!"
Geek Chic!
Who would have thought it was cool to do maths homework... And is this not the best calculator ever?
Spot her opaque white nails. Not the first show we've seen snow-like talons. Nail Polish used is Essie Blanc (£9.95).
The Final Look
And a tress Update...
"Our inspiration is that Lana Del Ray style hair," says Sam Mcknight. "We wanted to created a power silhouette. Think back-combing, volume, and big hair!"

Prada: Miss Magdalena
If you're into your models, then you may just know this girl... Magdalena Frackowiak. She's recently been the face of Lanvin and Ralph Lauren, plus she's a Vogue cover star - here's the girl in action sporting one seriously sultry Prada Pout!
Is there something white above her lip? Yes! "We've added a luminous white line to their cupids bow," says make up genius Pat McGrath. "We used lip colour pencil in white (£6.99) Max Factor."

Pat jumped out of the Prada bubble to give us a quick lowdown on what's going on!
"My Prada plan of action is all about the colour red," says Pat. "I've gone for a strong overdrawn lip in Colour me Lipstick in ruby tuesday (£7.99) Max Factor. The girls also have their toes painted in a super vivid red called red passion (£7.99) Max Factor."
Prada: Smile for GLAMOUR
It wasn't quite the right time to hand her our famous "I love GLAMOUR" sign (you'd believe us if you saw how many people were shouting Pat) BUT she still gave us her best grin.
Prada: Three's a Crowd
But not in this case - here's a trio of smouldering girls getting ready to storm the catwalk.
Wondering about their tresses? Hair transformer Guido Palau (Redken) brought bangs back this season; but with a twist! "Twirl hair up with no parting and flip it over your head to create a fringe effect," says Guido. "Use pins to hold the side of the bangs down."
What do we think? Tough to pull off but we're all for a face framing fringe.

Prada: Stam Fans
We were snapping away when we saw this striking backstage beauty; but as she smiled, it clicked - this is Victoria Secrets model Jessica Stam! We're used to her being a total blonde bombshell, so it took us a moment - but here she is rocking dark tresses. And with those piercing blue eyes, it kind of works!

Prada: Backstage to Front of House
Flat pumps, jeans, t-shirts and top knots - the classic look for beauty journalists backstage. Heels, one-off handbags, and blow dried, swooshy hair is what you can expect at the main event.
Needless to say we didn't quite fit in when we scurried from Prada backstage to the real deal fashion event of the season. Nevertheless we managed to take a seat - and who was in front of us? None other than THE Anne Wintour, oh and Carine Roitfeld, Emanuelle Alt and Lucinda Chambers.
No.Big.deal. Ok we're just being cool - Huge Deal!
Prada: Show Time
How do you know the Prada show has begun? Anna Wintour's glasses go on. Obviously.
Under The Sea
"Or just out of the sea at Just Cavalli," says hairstylist James Pecis. "The collection has shells, jellyfish and all-things-sea running through it, so I wanted the girls to look like they've just come out the water."
"We are using Moroccan Oil for fine hair (£29) through the ends," says James. "We're tonging and twisting the ends for that mermaid effect."

You see the picture in the bottom corner? That's them saying the models hair should have that 'just came out the sea' look from the shoulders down.
Who Loves GLAMOUR?
James Pecis! The uber cool hairstylist is backstage at Just Cavalli. Currently styling one of the 6 male models in the show!
Major Make up Alert
So, we know that there's an 'under the sea' theme at Just Cavalli. Could this make up compliment that any better?
"It's all about the eyes," says 1st time backstage make up artist, Benjamin Puckey. "I've used navy blue chromaline in marine ultra (£14) MAC and then pressed a white pigment on top for a pearlescent finish."
GLAMOUR Beauty already know and love Mr. Puckey and we hope that this is his first show of many!

"Walk left, no walk right," shouted one of the Just Cavalli helpers.

ETRO: Boyish Beauty!
We're at Etro SS13 and it's the staple Charlotte Tilbury look.
Handsome but pretty, statement brows yet highlighter galore. And androgynous; while still being totally and utterly beautiful.
And look! We managed to get two of our favourite girls in one shot - Josephine Skriver and Bette Franke!
ETRO: Geek Chic (again)
Maths at Moschino and now Geography at Etro. Homework is 'so' this season.
ETRO: A-List Casting
At best we spot 3 or 4 models we know by name backstage. Etro took it to another whole level with their casting. Toni Garnn, Bette Franke, Anna Selezneva, Magdalena Frackowiak, Josephine Skriver, Constance Jablonski... You get what we're saying? And if you don't - it's homework time!
ETRO: The Pony Tales...
The Etro tresses had a strong equestrian influence - all the girls had extensions, ultra long, swooshy tales and velvet ribbons.
On a side note: have you noticed the models amazing Etro print dressing gowns? The perks!
The Colour Purple
"Barbarella lands her spaceship in Milan," says MAC make up legend Terry Barber at Frankie Morello. "There are purple hues running through the collection so we've used MAC eyeshadow in vibrant grape (£12) along the socket line and below the waterline. I wanted a pearlescent finish so I've added cream colour base in pearl (£14.50) MAC on top of the lid."

The Rise of the Mineralize
Every season we spy a handful of new products while doing the backstage rounds. SS13 marks the rise of the new MAC Mineralize Foundations. Seen at almost every show, and name dropped by the likes of Val Garland and Tom Pecheux - be excited... Very very excited.
There's only one thing; we have to wait until March 2013.
Mane Robots
"Graphic, minimal, mid-parting ponytails at Frankie Morello," says Marco, European Creative Director of Tigi. "We're using extensions on every girl and cutting blunt, sharp ends - I want them to all look exactly the same."
"In the line up we're adding Catwalk by TIGI Curlesque Lightweight Mousse (£10.25) for some serious hair shine," adds Marco

"It's Jil Sander skin again this season," says make up maestro, Pat McGrath. "Clean, simple and fresh. The t-zone is matte and I've added sheen around the edge of the face. My key product for this look is cream puff powder (£5.99) Max Factor."

PUCCI: Think Oriental...
...At Pucci! "The look today is Indochine-Oriental inspired, so we've blowdried hair polka straight," says hair master Luigi Murenu. "We're using these amazing ivory hair accessories to keep hair in a half-up, half-down do. To finish, we're pulling bits out around the front, so that the look isn't too rigid."

MARNI: A Marni Morning
Alarms went off at 7am today - and it's a Sunday! It crosses our mind to snooze but then we remember Tom Pecheux and Paul Hanlon (2 of our favourite pro's) are busy at work making the SS13 Marni girl come to life; and on that note we were up and out!
At 8am GLAMOUR entered the Marni building...
MARNI: The Marni Girl...
Is stripping back this season. "She's more appealing to the real woman," says Paul Hanlon. "Bedhead texture, side partings and we are looping ponytails."
It roughly took 2 minutes to do each girl "if it takes any longer you're doing something wrong," adds Paul. "It shouldn't look too done or styled."

"There's a lot going on but not much at the same time," says the amazing Tom Pecheux. "I want you to wonder if they're wearing make up or not."
Tom said its all about using creamy textures that melt into the face and working towards a glowing richness.
"I don't want you to see it, I want you to feel it," adds Pecheux.
MARNI: Lipstick not for your Lips
"We've mixed MAC lipsticks in Glamour Era, Firm Form and Lush Life (£14 each)," says Tom Pecheux. "But not for the lips! We've applied it to cheeks, eyelids and temples for a warm flush."

Missoni - Our Milan Finale!
What a show to finish on - we've seen pops of colour scattered around Milan; but nothing could prepare us for the psychedelic vision we were faced with backstage at Missoni.

First up... Every backstage beauty reporter needs a pass to get in.

MISSONI: Bandana Hair
"I want the hair stuck down at the roots," says Wella Professional's Creative Director, Eugene Souleiman. "And then a more boho, tousled effect at the ends."
FYI: The purple hair net is not part of the look. Eugene is creating a kink by tying this in true bandana form - and will take them off in the line up right before the show begins.
MISSONI: We See You!
All the girls were given these uber-cute Missoni robes - the hoods meant it was hard to see who's who, but we still managed to spot the gorgeous Jourdan Dunn. She really is just THAT gorgeous.
We wish we looked like that in bath robes!
MISSONI: The Power Duo!
Missoni is the third show where MAC make up legend Terry Barber has been spotted doing Joan Smalls make up.

Missoni Mayhem
Whoever says backstage is a breeze didn't come to Missoni SS13.
This is make up and hair all trying to carry on their work while the girls have been ordered to go for their run through.
And let's not forget the thirty something photographers backstage fighting for the best shots!

Are you ready to hear about these super-hot pouts?
"Manga-inspired fluoro pink lips," says make up genius Lucia Pieroni. "I wanted it to have a felt tip effect so I've mixed orange, pink and white pigment (£16.50 each, MAC)."
Lucia jokes with us that the models may just hate her by the end as the pigment is going give them ultra-dry mouths.

Who Loves GLAMOUR?
It's a wrap for Milano - or at least we thought it was, until Miss Cara Delevingne started chatting to us.
We laughed at how we've bump into each other at every show, and that she'd noticed us (mainly) because of the famous clipboard - after confirming that she's a GLAMOUR fan, there was nothing left to do but take a snap of the busiest model of the season declaring her love for GLAMOUR.
