GoRunway.comTREND: Buns
Sleek and chic ballet buns are the order of the day for A/W 12: choose from low or high styles, perfectly petite or big and bold buns – anything goes.

Secure your bun at the nape of your neck to recreate this DVF style.

This is a great quick-fix hairstyle: you can even shower at the gym and create this look with wet hair.

Keep the front of your hair sleek by opting for a slick side-parting and fasten stray locks into the bun using hair grips.

To ensure a sleek finish, pull your hair into a pony and before securing the bun, comb any bumps toward the hair-tie using a comb. They’ll be hidden by the bun.

Not ready for super-neat hair? Rebel and leave a few strands loose. Go on, we dare you.
GoRunway.comTREND: Buns

If a simple knot is just not fancy enough, why not try your hand at Rick Owens’ multi-twist bun? Twist your ponytail into two strands, braid them together and twist into a bun (it’s simpler than it looks).
GoRunway.comTREND: Buns

A simple twisted bun has never been cooler. This style is totally weather-proof, so master it now for rain or shine.

Keep your bun in the middle of your head for a laid-back look.

No parting required: just pull locks straight back from your head and twist into a bun.
GoRunway.comTREND: Centre-parted
Thought centre-partings were boring? Think again. This season’s straight-down-the-line styles are all about wet-look waves, and easy-breezy down-dos.
As seen at: Roberto Cavalli
Be a grunge goddess with slick, wet-look locks. Achieve the look by adding a shine serum to damp locks and smoothing behind the ears.
GoRunway.comTREND: Centre-parted

Centre-partings are great if you have long, thick hair. Think model-off-duty and braid locks to create loose waves.
GoRunway.comTREND: Centre-parted
As seen at: Gucci
Centre-part locks and sweep the top section back, leaving the rest of your hair loose and wavy. This is a great everyday look.
GoRunway.comTREND: Pretty plaits, braids and twists
Beautiful braids and princess plaits are not just for summer. Oh no! Add some sparkle to your hairstyle with a twisted plait, a heavenly halo braid or braided buns.
As seen at: Fendi
The coolest hairstyle of the season? This double-twisted halo braid is one of autumn’s most fabulous looks.
GoRunway.comTREND: Pretty plaits, braids and twists
As seen at: Gucci
Take the front two sections of your hair and twist back to meet at the back of your head. Let the rest of your hair fall into soft waves.
GoRunway.comTREND: Pretty plaits, braids and twists
As seen at: Gucci
Create soft waves in the bottom of your hair by curling in a uniform direction using a wand and then brushing out the curls to create waves.
GoRunway.comTREND: Pretty plaits, braids and twists
As seen at: Marc Jacobs
For a cute update on the braided bun, divide your hair in two using a comb and create two mini plaited buns. Adorable!
GoRunway.comTREND: Pretty plaits, braids and twists
As seen at: Emilio Pucci
The halo braid is one of our favourite looks. Once you’ve nailed it you’ll wear it forever: if you’ve got thick, long hair, take a section from underneath and braid it up and over your hair creating a hairband. If you need a bit of extra help, invest in a pre-braided hairband – we won’t tell if you don’t.
GoRunway.comTREND: Pretty plaits, braids and twists

Leave the front of your locks free from the braid and sweep back in a centre-parting underneath the braid.

Get twisted! Twist your locks back on either side of your head (without creating a parting) and secure into a bun at the nape of your neck.

Neaten the look up by smoothing hair under the twist using a comb and secure the twist over any bumps using grips.
GoRunway.comTREND: Ponytails
One of S/S 12’s hottest trends, the ponytail, is back for another season. Wear yours low and loose, high and slick or just thrown-back – you’ll be seeing ponytails everywhere from the dance floor to the gym.
As seen at: Chanel
The ponytail is a great style for showing off statement make-up, be it a smoky eye, a strong lip or even a sequined eyebrow (what, you won’t be trying this one?).
