After Full House, Bob Saget directed the movie For Hope, inspired by his sister scleroderma story, who passed away in 1994. On television, he was the host of America's Funniest Home Videos. Saget was also the leading role of the short-lived comedy Raising Dad, which had an extremely similar plot to Full House. In 2005, Saget became the narrator of hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother. And two years after produced his own show Bob Saget: That Ain't Right, a stand-up special aired by HBO. Now, in Fuller House, his character Danny Tanner has moved away from the family home to present Wake-up USA, but still makes regular guest appearances.

Dave Coulier played Joey Gladstone, or "Uncle Joey" in Full House as the Tanner children called him. Thomson fought a battle against alcohol abuse after Cold Feet, and is now six years sober. After his recovery he lent his voice to Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. John is excited about ITV's spinoff of Cold Feet and thinks the timing couldn't be better. He said: "The world needs a little nostalgia and to look back on the days when everything seemed okay."
