What You Didn’t Know About The Fifty Shades Movie

It's without a doubt the most anticipated movie of 2015, and on Valentine's Day weekend we'll finally get to watch Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson take on the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey.
Be still your twitchy hand...

GLAMOUR goes grey! To celebrate the release of Fifty Shades of Grey Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson cover GLAMOUR's March issue - out 3 February 2015.
On the subject of sex scenes, Dakota tells us: "Jamie would be the first one to throw a blanket over me. And he did a lot of studying, just to make sure that I was as safe as possible. But there were some painful moments.”
You're braver than we'll ever be, Dakota.
Steven PanFilming on the Fifty Shades of Grey movie officially began on 5 December 2013 in Vancouver, Canada. On preparing for their roles, Jamie exclusively told us: “One rainy Tuesday evening, I kissed my wife and baby goodnight and went to watch a dominant/submissive session in a dungeon. The dominant was our sort-of advisor on the job. So I watched him do his thing… I didn’t enjoy it massively, but it was helpful to a point.”
PA PhotosWhen the film rights to Fifty Shades were offered out, they caused a bit of a furore in Hollywood, with heavyweights Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Spacey battling it out to produce the adaptation. In the end, Universal Pictures, Focus Features and Michael De Luca Productions snapped up the rights.
Sean Thorton/WENNContrary to popular belief, author E.L. James never wanted Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to appear in a movie version of her book; she thought that would be “strange” and “weird” and we couldn’t agree more.
Rex FeaturesSo what about the stars who have actually been cast. Well, Dakota Johnson, aka Ana Steele, made her film debut in Crazy In Alabama, where she and half-sister, Stella Banderas, played daughters to their real-life mum, Melanie Griffith. This girl has got exemplary Hollywood connections: the film was also directed by her stepfather, Antonio Banderas.
PA PhotosDakota was voted Miss Golden Globe in 2006. The award is traditionally given to the son or daughter of a celebrity and Dakota became the first second-generation Miss Golden Globe in the Globes' history (Melanie won in 1975).
PA PhotosAna Steele might be a little on the clumsy side, but not Dakota – she was an avid dancer as a youngster.
PA PhotosDakota went to rehab in 2007 for drug and alcohol addiction but has been doing great ever since.
Big PicturesDespite being “the girl Justin Timberlake has a one-night stand with” in The Social Network, Dakota took down her Facebook profile, because she didn't like being on it.
Rex FeaturesShe also made a cameo appearance in the finale of The American Office.
Rex FeaturesAs if you needed any more proof of Dakota’s Hollywood credentials – she’s best friends with Riley Keough (Elvis’ grand-daughter FYI) and was a childhood friend of Rumer Willis.
Rex FeaturesDakota is currently dating Scientologist Jordan Masterson. He is also an actor and has appeared in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and ABC TV series Greek.

And, so on to Mr Christian Grey... Apparently Garrett Hedlund, Ryan Gosling and Chris Hemsworth turned down the role of Christian Grey, while Christian Cooke and Dominic Cooper auditioned.
Rex FeaturesAnd on to Christian Grey... Jamie Dornan is well used to Hollywood women, having dated Keira Knightley for two years until 2005. Nowadays, he's married to English actress and singer-songwriter Amelia Warner, who is expecting his first child.

As well as being an actor, Jamie has modelled for Calvin Klein Underwear (see very gorgeous photo) and performs as part of a folk duo.
PA PhotosThe woman that’s taking on the 50 Shades helm is Sam Taylor-Johnson. If there’s one thing we can expect it's an artistic adaptation, as Sam is part of a group known as the Young British Artists.

Sam’s husband Aaron Johnson seems to have no qualms about his wife directing such a high profile project. "I am thrilled she is doing it. She got the job and overnight it went crazy. But Sam is incredible…She is totally the right person to take it to a whole other level of class."
Rex FeaturesJennifer Ehle, who is rumoured to be playing Ana’s mum Carla, appeared opposite Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride & Prejudice AND apparently was romantically linked to him during filming (the lucky thing). Nowadays the British-American actress is married to writer Michael Ryan, with whom she has two children.
PA PhotosJennifer Ehle was almost in TV hit Game of Thrones… She appeared as Catelyn Stark in the show’s pilot but was replaced by Michelle Fairley after leaving the series for family reasons.
