The 2000s were the era of the top. Where low-rise denim and belt-thick denim mini skirts were mainstay from the hips down, noughties gals had to find other ways to elevate their look - and the humble top was that device.
But humble they were not: minuscule chainmail, barely there boob tubes, handkerchief tops, peasant blouses, corsets, denim tops, sassy vest tops and even waistcoats adorned our favourite celebrities throughout the decade. There were even bufferfly tops (who remembers those?! Hey, Mariah!) and ponchos.
