This new range promises to revive damaged hair, so we put it to the test

If your ends are thirstier than an episode of MAFS, this range is for you.
Pantene Molecular Bond Repair Range Review

Damaged hair can happen to the very best of us. Heated styling tools, bleach or dye, sun exposure and even tight hairstyles can cause dry, brittle, lacklustre hair. So, if you love a snatched bun, a full head of highlights and a beach vacay as much as we do at team GLAMOUR, your hair is probably crying out for a little TLC. Just like the 90% of women who experience damaged lengths and the 30% who believe it’s damaged beyond repair, with no other choice but to rush to the salon for a drastic cut. We’ve all been there.

But, sound the alarms, there’s a just-dropped haircare range that promises to transform lifeless hair by reversing visible signs of damage, resulting in revitalised, reborn, healthiest-its-ever-looked hair.

Pantene’s new Molecular Bond Repair Range is the result of seven years of scientific research and works at a molecular level to achieve up to 100% hair regeneration*. What this means is that while some shampoos and conditioners provide ‘faux fixes’ by simply coating hair in an artificial, temporary shine, the Molecular Bond Repair Range penetrates into the deepest level of the hair shaft for the highest level of hair transformation ever provided by Pantene hair health experts.

Without getting too ‘GCSE science lesson’, the main way it does this is via 5,000 Pro-V Nutri Pearls – basically tiny dissolvable pearls that house millions of nutrient-rich molecules – which target and reconstruct broken hair bonds at the core of each strand. No fake shine over here, thank you.

The range includes Shampoo, Conditioner, Mask and – the hero product of the range – the Intensive Treatment, designed for extremely damaged hair that needs bringing back to life, stat.

So, naturally, we and our broken strands and bone-dry ends put it to the test. Here’s our honest reviews of the Pantene Molecular Bond Repair Range…

Pantene Molecular Bond Repair Bundle

I've undergone my fair share of hair transformations, having dyed, bleached and heat-styled my hair more times than I can remember – from going platinum blonde, to pink, to brunette and everything in-between. So when it comes to hair care products, I gravitate towards nourishing products that will bring my damaged hair back to life. Bonus points if they're affordable, too. Luckily, the Pantene Molecular Bond Repair range delivers exactly that. I've tested the products for a few weeks now, and they're now a permanent part of my haircare rota (especially on those "everything shower" days).

Thanks to the biotin-infused formulations, all the products work hand-in-hand: the shampoo cleanses without that squeaky and stripping feel; and the conditioner smooths and nourishes my hair almost immediately on application. But personally, the two standout products for me were the deep conditioning treatment and the mask. Although you wouldn't necessarily use them every time you wash your hair, the transformation is undeniable – my hair felt noticeably smoother, softer and healthier all around. The best part? My once dull hair turned shiny, which is a rarity for me, considering my love for heat styling. Although I've only been using it for a few weeks, my hair already feels much stronger too – no visible breakage in sight!

I’m the daughter of a hairdresser, so I've inflicted heat damage, bleach damage, sun damage and just about any other kind of damage you can imagine on my hair. I was super excited to try the Pantene Molecular Bond Repair range, as I think it’s safe to say my bonds need some serious repair. This quartet of products includes a Shampoo, Hair Conditioner, Deep Conditioning Treatment, and Intensive Hair Mask, which seemed like a complete solution for reviving my tired hair.

While the shampoo initially left my hair feeling a bit brittle, the deep conditioning treatment and intensive hair mask quickly softened and revived it, leaving it feeling wonderfully silky. The fragrance is delightful, adding a touch of luxury to the experience without being overpowering.

One of the bundle's standout features is how remarkably clean it leaves your hair feeling – a true wash day treat, especially for someone like me who relies heavily on styling products throughout the week. This refreshing sensation is a game-changer, providing a clean slate for your hair and making it an indispensable addition to any haircare routine. I do have a sneaking suspicion that some of my natural oils may have also been cleaned out in the process, so I probably wouldn’t go use this more than once a week.

In summary, the Pantene Molecular Bond Repair Bundle is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to reset and nourish their hair. With its ability to revive and restore, it's a must-have for maintaining healthy, beautiful hair.

I’ve been spoiled working in the beauty industry, regularly being offered the chance to test expensive haircare products from premium brands. Some work wonders, but others aren’t worth the money – which is why I’m such a stan of affordable brands that do the job well. Enter: Pantene. And their Molecular Bond Repair range, more specifically. ICYMI, Molecular Bond Repair is the brand’s biggest innovation of the past decade.

It was formulated in response to the fact that 90% of women (shockingly) experience damaged hair. I fall within that 90% – my hair has been subject to almost daily heat styling over the past ten years, and while I try and keep it in good condition, it was definitely in need of looking a bit more “alive”.

I actually started my new haircare routine with the hair mask, which comes in a big tub, applying it quite generously through my lengths before showering. It’s best used on damp hair, so I did run my hair under the tap before application, and then sat back for 10 minutes before getting in the shower. I then completed my hair routine as normal: shampoo, followed by the conditioner – but with the addition of a leave-in conditioner which I left in while I exfoliated and shaved.

I loved the packaging of all of the products – important, for me – and everything smelled so much more expensive than it actually is. A scent, in fact, that lingered on my hair for days. Thanks to the nutrient-rich formula, my hair felt softer than it had in weeks after styling. Lighter, healthier and almost salon-fresh. I used the products for a period of two weeks, washing my hair once every other day and using the mask and leave-in conditioner once or twice a week. I’ve been so impressed by the way the formula has regenerated my hair from the inside out, and I’ll absolutely continue using everything in the range for the foreseeable future.

As someone with thin hair that’s prone to breakage, a haircare line with a focus on bond repair is right up my street. That said, because my hair is thinner it can easily get weighed down and flat with particular products, so I’m always wary when trying something new.

From my first use of the Molecular Bond Repair range, I loved how silky and sleek my hair felt afterwards; it was left light and fluffy rather than its usual brittle and flat. The shampoo and conditioner were easy to work through wet hair, while the intensive hair mask went on like a treat and felt generously nourishing.

I appreciated the tactile element of the Pro-V Nutri Pearls in the mask and intensive treatment, with them being easy enough to break up without it feeling like an unnecessary add-on. The intensive treatment was perfect for the days where I wanted to give my hair a little extra TLC beyond the conditioner, while the mask made for a delicious end-of-week pick-me-up with a fresh, sweet scent to match.

Overall, I loved how soft Pantene’s Molecular Bond Repair range left my hair feeling, giving me that good-hair-day ego boost through the week of testing.

As someone with wavy, unruly hair, I was excited to try out the Pantene Molecular Bond Repair bundle, a complete set featuring shampoo, conditioner, intensive treatment and a hair mask. Anything promising to rescue my dry, frizzy hair grabs my attention instantly – especially after years of subjecting it to relentless heat styling.

Following my usual routine, I lathered up with the shampoo before generously applying the conditioner from mid-length to ends. Then I reached for the intensive mask, leaving it on for two minutes as directed. To my delight, it left my hair tangle-free, sleek, and glossy, sans the weighed-down roots or greasy residue that many masks come with.

I found the Pro-V Pearls dissolved easily, melting into my hair without leaving behind any residue, and post-wash, my hair felt in great condition to blow-dry as usual. Overall, I'd say the haircare line is perfect for people like me who frequently subject their hair to heat and are naturally more prone to dryness and breakage as it focuses on repairing broken bonds in the hair to revive dehydrated lengths. And the smell? It’ll remind you of holidays on a tropical island.
