Stop it all because Zendaya has officially stepped on the Met Gala 2024 red carpet, officially marking her return to fashion's biggest night, and, of course, she is dressed to the nines for the occasion.
As a co-chair for this year's event, Zendaya is one of the first ones to grace the Met Gala red carpet, which this year has “The Garden of Time” as the dress code, complementing the exhibition's “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme.
Since attending her first Met Gala in 2015, Zendaya has always nailed the theme, and of course, the Met Gala 2024 wouldn't be an exception. Though her long-time stylist, Law Roach, scared everyone, claiming Zendaya's Met Gala 2024 dress "wasn't even made yet" just days before the big event, of course, the star has done it again, wearing a period gown by Margiela sourced from Rita Watnick's coveted archival L.A. store LILY et Cie — so, turns out, the look had already been made for years and it just needed a fitting.
See Zendaya's Met Gala 2024 look below:
Watnick's Instagram account describes LILY et Cie as not only a boutique but also an “amazing resource for haute couture and rare designer pieces,” and Zendaya's Met Gala 2024 certainly proves that. (Lest we forget, this is also where the Olsen twins famously source their own Met Gala garbs!)
Zendaya's stunning gown is what we'd expected from the star, who has us accustomed to killer looks whether she's promoting her films or presenting at the Oscars. The look joins five other Met Gala looks by star — ranging from a Guo Pei gown to a Versace armor and that unforgettable (super campy) Cinderella moment in Tommy Hilfiger.
Ahead of the Met Gala, Zendaya also already wore another stunning vintage pull to attend a pre-Met Gala dinner alongside her fellow co-chairs. Accompanied by Roach, the star chose a form-fitting dress from John Galliano's spring-summer 1998 ready-to-wear collection sourced from Aralda Vintage featuring a lace bodice with butterflies, bows, and cherry blossoms motifs, perfect for the theme because if there's one thing Zendaya will do, it's commit.
