There’s a few new faces in the latest Deadpool film – and no, it’s not Hugh Jackman resurrecting his role as Wolverine.
Deadpool & Wolverine, the third film in Ryan Reynolds' Marvel movie franchise, has finally been released so we now know for certain who Lady Deadpool is.
Before the release, fans had speculated that the character could be played by either Blake Lively – a choice that makes sense given she is married to Reynolds – but Taylor Swift's name was thrown in the ring too.
This confusion was only heightened after the final trailer was released that gave us a glimpse of Lady Deadpool and revealed that she had blonde, wavy hair, a trademark look for both Swift and Lively.
Who is Lady Deadpool?
As it turns out, fans were spot on as Lady Deadpool is played by none other than Blake Lively.
Swift does not appear in the film, but fans had speculated that she was involved as she is best friends with Lively – and Lively, Jackman, and Reynolds were all seen accompanying Swift to one of her boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s football games last year.
However, Reynolds did address the Swift rumours earlier this year, stating: “Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”

Alas, Swift's cameo was not meant to be, but she did post about the movie's release on Instagram.
“Over the past few years I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film,” she wrote on a Story accompanied with a picture of Lively, Reynolds, and Jackman.
“He's created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wld escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don't know how he did it. But that's just Hugh for you! These other randoms crashed the photo and we were too polite to ask them to leave.”
Swift also included a link for fans to buy tickets to the movie, and ended the post with a shout out to Wade Wilson (Reynolds' Deadpool character) who she said is also known as her godkid's sperm donor, revealing that she is godmother to each of Reynolds and Lively's four kids.
Some people have been asking for Lively to play Lady Deadpool as far back as 2018, with one person writing: “Can Blake Lively please play Lady Deadpool in Deadpool 3? The jokes between her and Ryan would be insane.”

Lively isn't the only famous face in the new film, she's just one of several A-listers to appear on the big screen. Here are some other big names:
