Virginia Guiffre's memoir Nobody's Girl is due to be released posthumously today. Guiffre, an advocate for justice and vocal accuser of Jeffrey Epstein, died earlier this year. Although it was officially ruled as suicide, her family later called details of her death into question.
In her new memoir, Guiffre details how she was sex trafficked by Epstein and his then-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, and, she alleged, was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew. She details horrific abuse at Epstein's hands that took place between 2000 and 2002 at Epstein's Palm Beach home, his Manhattan home, his Zorro Ranch in New Mexico and his private island Little Saint James.
As her memoir is released, here is what happened to Virginia Guiffre.
Virginia Guiffre was born in 1983 in Sacremento, Florida. Her family moved to Palm Beach, Flordia when she was four.
Guiffre had a troubled childhood. She was abused at a young age and, after running away from home, spent time in foster homes and living on the streets.
Guiffre's father was a maintenance manager at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago property and he helped her get a job at the spa when she was 16 in 1999.
In the summer of 2000, Maxwell, pretending to be helping Guiffre in her training as a massage therapist, took Guiffre to meet Epstein at his home where she alleged she was raped. Later that year, Guiffre was hired by Epstein as a massage therapist. While at his home, she was raped by him and other men on numerous occasions.
In March 2001, Epstein and Maxwell took Guiffre to London where she said she first met Prince Andrew and was pressured by Maxwell into having sex with him. She said she was forced to have sex with him on two more occasions in 2001 and 2002. He denies all claims.
A lawyer for the convicted sex offender recently said, “It’s all about men abusing women for a long period of time … and it’s only one person in jail – a woman.”

In September 2002, Guiffre, now 19, was sent to Thailand to train at the International Training Massage School. Guiffre claimed that Maxwell instructed her to bring back a specific Thai girl to live with Epstein as part of their sex trafficking operation.
Guiffre met Robert Giuffre, an Australian martial arts trainer, while in Thailand. The pair married and she broke off ties with Epstein and Maxwell.
Guiffre came forward with accusations about Epstein, Maxwell and Andrew between 2011 and 2021. In 2022, Andrew paid a settlement to Guiffre, but continued to deny all claims. Maxwell also denied the specific claims made by Giuffre regarding her involvement in facilitating sexual contact between Giuffre and Prince Andrew or Epstein.
Guiffre was involved in a car accident in March 2025 when her car collided with a school bus. Although she was initially sent home after the accident, she was later taken to hospital, and shared on social media that she was experiencing renal failure. “I've gone into kidney renal failure, they've given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology,” she said at the time. She was, however, later discharged from hospital.
On April 25, 2025, Guiffre died by suicide. Her father later told the press that he thought somebody “got to her.” “First of all, I couldn’t even believe it. I mean, I started crying right away,” he said. “I’m still crying. I can’t believe that this is happening. It’s impossible. And then for them to say that she committed suicide, there’s no way that she did."
However, speaking to People, her attorney Karrie Louden claimed that her death was not suspicious.
“I am not willing to speculate on her cause of death as to whether it was suicide or misadventure (death from unnatural causes, including when the deceased person willingly took a risk)," she said. “I do not believe it was suspicious in any way. The Coroner will determine in due course the cause of death and that will be established based on the evidence."
