Magic at your fingertips.
Velvet galaxy nails Are Trending And We're Mesmerised

We've already seen makeup trends infiltrate our manis (see lipgloss nails and lip oil nails). Now, it seems our interiors are following suit. Velvet galaxy nails are taking off, and they're as deliciously opulent, sumptuous and eye-catching as a luxurious velvet armchair that you'd slump into on a ritzy weekend away. Add to that the celestial megawatt glitter and you've got yourself a mani that's as intricate as the night's sky.

Whether you're a minimalist or a maximalist, more of us are paying closer attention to how we decorate our fingertips and making mini artworks out of them in their own right.

Which brings us back to velvet galaxy nails. The trend sees nail artists mimic the texture and dimension of velvet with a layered glitz mani with extra sparkle.

We spotted the trend blowing up on nail artist, Aistė Haas' Instagram (@heygreatnails) where her videos have brought in hundreds of thousands of likes. She starts with a regular base colour (you can mix it up depending on your mood), then blends in shadowing across the nail using a nail brush and a second and third polish.

As for how to make the magic happens, the secret is the MIZHSE magnetic cat-eye nail polish, which you can pick up on Amazon, to create the velvety-effect. Aistė waves a magic magnetic wand over the top of the mani to make the glitter stand on end and give that psychedelic texture and glow.

So, if you're looking for a next-level mani to raise your game, it's worth having velvet galaxy nails on your radar.

As for extra inspo, star sign nails are trending, so you can base your mani on your horoscope. Minimalists will love bubble gloss nails and if you prefer something grittier, we're so on board with leather-look nails.
