Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged! It looks like they couldn't fight the alchemy any longer—on August 26, Taylor Swift shared she's engaged to the 35-year-old NFL player after two years of dating.
Swift posted the announcement on Instagram with the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce quietly started dating in August 2023 shortly after the Kansas City Chiefs star loudly proclaimed his interest on his New Heights podcast the month prior. Though he was unsuccessful at giving Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at her Eras Tour concert, he did manage to grab her attention with the shoutout, which Swift later called “metal as hell.”
The pair's courtship didn't fly under the radar for long, of course. The pair hard-launched their relationship when Swift famously attended a Kansas City Chiefs home game in September before riding off with the tight end in a convertible. While she has watched him win multiple games since then—including the 2024 and 2025 Super Bowl—he returned the favour at multiple international Eras Tour performances.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care," she told Time in December 2023. "The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Many Swifties have been waiting for the announcement for a while, with some believing Kelce popped the question during a romantic boat trip in Lake Como, Italy, in May 2024. That same day, Entertainment Tonight had reported that “a proposal might be on the horizon” for the It couple. “Taylor and Travis are doing amazing, and their loved ones see an engagement coming sooner than later," the source said at the time. "They make a great match and there’s no question about that.”
Travis Kelce himself has added fuel to the fire on multiple episodes of his New Heights by saying he “can't wait” to design his own lab-grown diamond and giving wedding planning advice to a soon-to-be groom. “Don’t do this,” his brother Jason warned after the lab-grown diamond comment in March. “Do not give any of these other conspiracy theorists anything else to latch onto, please.”
If those comments weren't enough to convince fans, it seemed pretty clear that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were endgame once she invited him on stage to perform with her onstage in a full tuxedo and top hat during a London Eras Tour performance in late June. “Yeah they are totally engaged that's the craziest shit she's ever done with a man and I was around during Hiddleswift.” one fan wrote on X.com at the time.

The only real question left to ask is whether or not Travis Kelce shouted “Viva Las Vegas” after Taylor Swift said yes.
