Saturday Night Live writer Katie Rich has been suspended indefinitely from the show following a tweet deemed insensitive by many regarding Donald Trump's son Barron.
On inauguration day, as events were unfolding, Katie wrote, "Barron will be this country’s first homeschool shooter," on her Twitter page.
Katie deleted the tweet shortly afterwards when it caused a fierce backlash. She later apologised, saying the following:
"I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I'm so sorry."
She has now allegedly been cut from writing on the show following the incident.
