With the iconic Hedi Slimane at the helm, the French house of Saint Laurent has seen huge changes over the last few years; including a name change, phenomenal sales increases and huge commercial success.
Last night marked the beginning of a brand new chapter for the house: a debut collection from Anthony Vaccarello (who recently closed his namesake line to focus on this venture).
Vaccarello took Slimane's eighties inspired medley from last season and ran with it (albeit in his trademark sleek and sexy way). The new Saint Laurent already feels more refined and quite honestly.. We are into it!
Here are 6 styles we want to be wearing now:
Unbelievably sexy but offset with a boyfriend jean.. perfection.
This is no understated print. Big and bold. The print works particularly well on a sheer fabric.
Despite the eighties influence reigning last season, there wasn't a whole lot of lace around. An easy way to add a little sexiness into any outfit. Look for super fine lace and show a little skin.
Something else that was huge last season: the leg of mutton sleeve. Vaccarello's take on this was something a little more subtle.. a little more sexy.
Most designers during the AW16 shows fully embraced sequins and sparkle. The stand out statement dress was the one. If you havent already invest in one because they don't seem to be going anywhere.
Shoulder skimming earrings are nothing new but the contrasting colours made for an interesting spin. Don't be scared of the clash.
