Who remembers the 1980's epic movie, Private Benjamin? It starred the almighty Goldie Hawn, who played a high society woman joining the army on a whim. Well, excellent news for you: it's about to be remade and Deadline reports that Rebel Wilson will take the lead role.
Amazing news, or what?!
The new version will star a redneck (Rebel Wilson) and a rich city girl who sign up for the marines. No word as yet who will be the rich city girl - we're kind of hoping for Rose Byrne.
Deadline reports that Mark Gordon is producing the movie, and that they are currently seeking a director for the modern day update.
The original Private Benjamin grossed nearly $70 million at the box office back in 1980, and it spawned a short-lived TV series.
Rebel Wilson will next be seen in Night at the Museum 3 and Pitch Perfect 2.
