Named The Hibiscus Collection, this bridal capsule embodies the label's signature effortless sexiness while amping up the glamour for a glitzy wedding weekend.
Think: luxurious silks, chiffons and tulle paired with unexpected details like cascading beading or a lace cape to ensure that the pieces still feel fashion-forward. Our editors gasped when we saw the fringed top paired with wide-legged satin trousers, and a goddess tube gown featuring a ruched hibiscus at the hip.
“We’ve always loved white as a colour—it exudes confidence, and there’s something so fearless about wearing it," says founders Valentina Muntoni and Stephanie Bennett. The duo started Rat & Boa in 2016 (the name was inspired by a quote by Stevie Nicks, referencing the idea that seemingly contrasting elements can come together beautifully) and has since grown from strength to strength—buoyed by the wave of celebrity and influencers who immediately adopted the brand, making their Valentina dress go viral. Given the number of people who buy and rent Rat & Boa for hen do's and wedding guest dresses, it only made sense that the label would launch their own bridal line.
“The Hibiscus collection is created to embody the spirit of the Rat & Boa woman: bold, sexy, powerful, liberated, and fun. We designed this collection to be worn by brides, but also as ready-to-wear. It’s versatile enough for any occasion, but with an edge. It captures that undone, effortless glamour that defines the Rat & Boa aesthetic. When it comes to their wedding day, brides want that same bold femininity and undone sensuality,” the founders tell GLAMOUR.
Adding: “Brides don’t want to wear something that doesn’t represent them and how they normally dress. It was important that our collection offered variety in styles and accessories, as we’re seeing people wanting options for different elements of the wedding and the flexibility to style things to reflect their personal style—whether that’s through accessories, a cape, etc.”
