We've already sung the praises of 'humble basket bag' this week, but it seems we're all just as obsessed with another simple, timeless wardrobe staple right now.
The idea of basic white shirt may not stir up any particular emotion within - particularly for those of us twelve weeks deep into working-from home - with little in the way of interesting creativity within this space. The odd fluted sleeve, an occasional unexpected button, or - if you've got the budget for Miu Miu - an embroidered deep-V collar... but nothing wildly exciting has so far set the world of white shirts alight.
Or, at least, it hadn't, before we discovered Piece of White.
Founded just three years ago by Turkish designer Zeynep Tansug, Piece of White is essentially a label whose bread and butter is reimagining the timeless white shirt with modern twists.
Think off-the-shoulder, one-shoulder, no-shoulder... clever cuff fabrication, cinched-in short sleeves, sheer sleeves, open backs, gathered necks and tied waists - the world of white shirts has never been so appealing.
Music to the ears of those of us soon set to reclaim our position as office-dwellers, and who are restricted to a shirt-and-trouser uniform that has, until now, been entirely uninspiring.
And while white shirts are undoubtedly Zeynep's main focus, the label also offers up add-on pieces each season, such as cotton jumpsuits and dresses - which are all equally simple in colour and stunning in shape. Even Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a fan...
Not only is every piece handmade, but they are also crafted from top-quality fabrics - most often 100% silk or cotton poplin - that not only hold their interesting shapes but are also so comfortable that you don't feel as though you're wearing a typical 'fashion shirt' (we all know how stiff and starchy some of those can be).
The white shirt has never felt so fresh, and for the first time in a long time won't need to change out of it to suit our evening-wear wardrobe.
