The new Oxford English Dictionary has been released and it contains some serious wordy gems.
1,200 new words have by a crack team of 15 wordsmiths who work on finding contemporary relevant words deep in rural Oxfordshire. The process takes a whole year and a whole lot of research.
Here are some of the most noteworthy additions:
Yolo (you only live once, duh)
Moobs (man-boobs)
Squee (an exclamation of excitement)
Cheeseball ("someone or something lacking taste, style, or originality; or more prosaically, the breaded and deep fried cheese appetiser")
Oompa Loompa (often used to refer to someone with a perma-tan or one of Willy Wonka's friends)
Fuhgeddaboudit (forget about it...)
Yogalates (a hybrid of yoga and pilates)
What do you think will be on next year's list?
