Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up! I’ve been knocked to the ground by the gorgeousness of Bridgerton and Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan on the pink carpet!

By now you’ve surely seen your fair share of stunning looks from the various Barbie premieres and events. Issa Rae, America Ferrera, and especially Margot Robbie have been serving and slaying for days. But this is the first time we’ve seen Coughlan – who plays Diplomat Barbie in the sure-to-be blockbuster – strut her stuff for a photo call. And when I tell you she nailed it…

I am in fact screaming and crying and throwing up. This absolutely looks like something you’d dress a special Holiday Doll in, plus that sexy makeup and Old Hollywood hair? Holographic nails! Chandelierrings! At any other event, the stuck-on crystals might be too much, but given how bright the entire ambience is, her sparkle is entirely appropriate. In my humblest opinion, she has never looked better.

Coughlan’s stylist, Aimée Croysdill, revealed on Instagram that the gown is a custom Wiederhoeft (the designer created a similar look for Jennifer Coolidge) made with Tencel sustainable fabric. Nails by Michelle Class, makeup by Neil Young and hair by Halley Brisker, who provided us with a lil’ behind-the-scenes tutorial:

Nicola Coughlan is set to break out in a big way this year. Already a fan-favourite, her character Penelope will get a starring role in the upcoming Bridgerton season, which focuses on Pen’s romance with Colin Bridgerton, a.k.a. #Polin. Also – spoiler – she’s still Lady Whistledown.

From the early buzz, it sounds as though Barbie focuses mostly on Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s characters, with the huge ensemble cast used more for world-building than character exploration. But like, can we still get a doll made of her?

Everyone else at the premiere looked good, too. I don't want this press tour to end, TBH.
