Diet Coke has got a lot of flack over the years - from celebs like Cameron Diaz saying it's worse than cigarettes, to various health fears about the heavy levels of artificial sweetener aspartame in the drink.

So now Coke are hoping they can reclaim their crown as the dieter's drink of choice, by launching Coca-Cola Life, which will contain a third less sugar and calories than the original soft drink.

The drink is sweetened with sugar and stevia leaf extract - and a 330ml can will contain 22.1 grams of sugar - 25% per cent of an adult's guideline daily amount. This might sound like a lot, but it's a lot less than the 35g of sugar in a regular can of Coke.

The new product is the brand's first launch since 2006, and will go on sale over here after trials in Argentina and Chile. It's all part of industry and government-wide efforts to tackle the growing obesity problem - but is a lower calorie Coke actually going to make a difference? Let us know your thoughts below.
