Internet dating can be a mindfield - even if you put aside the stress of choosing the perfect profile pic and hilarious quotes about yourself, there's always the fear that when you meet your match they might not be the Ryan Gosling doppelganger in their photo after all. But a new dating app promises to eridicate the risk of fakers.

In fact the slogan for Would Like To Meet is 'No fakes, just dates'.

But how do they filter out the pretenders? Well, it's all thanks to a new verification software which allows users to upload a video of themselves securely within the app, which is then checked my a member of the team (yup, a living, breathing non computer) to confirm they are who they say they are.

Founder Eden Blackman explains that the idea for Would Like To Meet came about after he experienced the security risks of other dating apps and websites.

"You can set up a profile page and load pretty much any picture you like, claiming itʼs you. If you believed some of the ones Iʼve seen on other sites then Cindy Crawford, Jude Law and Homer Simpson, are apparently all single and looking for love.

"Honesty is the vital component for online dating - Weʼre all busy people and the last thing you need when searching for that special someone."

Focusing on matching people on compatibility, the app aims to create matches based on shared tastes and interests, giving users a heads up on movies, music and places you have in common to eliminate first date awkward silences.

Sounds good to us.
