Neon nails are the spring trend that's manifesting sunshine

If neon makes you think of high school encounters with highlighter pens or Crayola felt tips, it's time to rethink. Heading into summer neon nails will be taking off, and, they're exactly the sort of mood boost we need right now. 

Already, neon has been given fashion's seal of approval. At the current fashion week cycle, Nina Ricci signed off on hot pink and Elie Saab backed bright yellow in Paris. In London, Ahluwalia got behind hi-vis green and Mark Fast was here for neon everything. 

But, if you're not ready to commit to head-to-toe brights, neon nails offer a very chic way to lean into the trend more minimally. And there's so many ways you can play it, whether you want a straight-up all over shade, or neon accents (we see you: French tips).

This week, Hailey Bieber, traded in her trademark glazed donut mani for a dopamine hit of glazed lemon, and while her manicurist, Zola Ganzorigt, hasn't let slip on the exact shade she used yet, Rimmel's Beach Breeze Please looks like a close match for a peppy yellow.

It may still be winter, but we've noticed fluro shades creeping in early to bring the sunshine (even though it's still raining). Elsewhere, the Barbiecore trend is making a case for electric pink, which we've started spotting everywhere.

 And green nails have skyrocketed with over 267 million views on TikTok and a surge of over 60% in searches on Google. Pistachio and sage are pretty for spring, but we've also been loving the acid green streaked across our socials.
