Only Murders in the Building season three has officially hit our screens, and we couldn't be more thankful!
Our patience has paid off with the first two episodes of the third instalment of the New York murder comedy show finally hitting our Disney+ streaming service, with the rest being released weekly. After all, we have been waiting eagerly to find out what happened after the second season of the show, starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin, ended with a murder that took place during the opening night of a new Broadway show.
We all watched in horror as Paul Rudd's Ben Gilroy, an actor, died on stage, with a whole new colourful cast of suspects, including the likes of Meryl Streep, Ashley Park, Andrea Martin, Jesse Williams, Jeremy Shamos, Linda Emond, Wesley Taylor and Don Darryl Rivera.
She's a regular sleeping beauty.

And the early reviews of the third season have gone down a treat with viewers, with many admitting that it's just as hysterical as the previous seasons — but we could have honestly watched Meryl Streep trying to act badly, or Steve Martin say mème all day long.
"Meryl Streep’s character in #OnlyMurdersintheBuilding is delightful. I’m already hooked!" one person gushed, while another added: “Finally!! I can Watch my favorite Trio now and yes real television is back!! My Queen Selena did great on this series ofcoures all the cast did great on this series especially Meryl Streep #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding #OMITBSeason3”.
The praise for Meryl continued to roll in, with another adding: “Meryl Streep is already acting for her LIFE in her first scene. She just never disappoints! #OMITB #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding.”

The release of season three comes just a few weeks after the first theatrical trailer was released, where the true-crime-obsessed Arconia tenants Charles-Haden Savage (Martin), Mabel Mora (Gomez), and Oliver Putnam (Short) were seen to have found themselves in a sticky situation once again. You can watch the trailer here:
We've also got a bunch of production stills that tease a seriously glitzy Broadway-based season:
In further live shots from the set of season three, Selena Gomez's character Mabel Mora dons a lace-covered wedding dress, complete with gloves and a trailing veil – but why?
Behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram show Steve Martin and Martin Short arm-in-arm with Selena. “They immediately made me feel like I was a part of a trio,” she previously told People Magazine. “They're just the best. They are extremely humble and kind, and they just have a different human perspective on life than anyone I've ever met.”
Two of the true-crime fanatics are snapped celebrating as they exit the church, but Mabel doesn't look too sure as the three bundle into a yellow cab.
On January 17 2023, Selena Gomez shared a short video of the OMITB season three cast, which includes a surprise appearance from the one and only Meryl Streep.

Martin also shared a photo of the cast on Instagram. In the shot, Meryl wears her hair in loose braids.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams is also joining the show.
There are no signs of stopping. “Only Murders in the Building is the true crown jewel of our slate,” Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment president Craig Erwich said in a press release announcing the third season. “Its appeal across generations, the intersection of humour and heart, and its truly original approach are a hallmark of and testament to Dan, John, Steve, Marty, and Selena’s work. We are grateful to be able to continue telling the stories of Charles, Oliver and Mabel to viewers that have consistently shown us they crave more of this story.”
During a press tour for the show, Martin joked to Variety that they want to continue the show until they're old and grey: “Until I’m in a walker, that’s how long I’d like to do it.” Based on the looks of it, it doesn't seem that season three will be the show's last.
Now, please excuse us as we curl up on the sofa for the third instalment of Only Murders In The Building!
