As you'll have probably noticed if you have Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook or the internet, the Met Ball took place last night. But, who stayed true to the dress code?
The theme was the slightly bafflling Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology - a play on couture techniques vs machinery and technology. The general translation of the confusing theme was metallics and lots of it. Think beading, metal armour and different incarnations of silver - the Tinman from the Wizard of Oz was the evening's muse.
However, there were some who were more committed to the topic than others (we're looking at you Blake Lively and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). Here, we name the stars who nailed what was probably the Met's most baffling theme ever:
Now, this was impressive. Claire Danes' Zac Posen princess-like dress lit up in the dark via 30 mini battery packs which were woven in throughout. Cinderella, eat your heart out.
Danes wasn't the only one to use fairytale lighting. Model Karolina Kurkova's Marchesa dress lit up different colours in accordance to the public's tweets. We have no idea how this works, but it's clever.
Whether you think it's ridiculous or not, Zayn Malik's Robocop arm stayed true to the theme.
Kate Hudson's Versace gown straddled both couture and technology.
Who knew latex could look so ornate? Beyonce's dress was adorned in delicate flowers.
When the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the theme for the 2016 Met Ball we definitely scratched our heads. What on earth does "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" mean?
The tech-themed Met Ball will take place on 2 May 2016, and will be chaired by Apple's Johnny Ive. Joining him will be Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Anna Wintour, Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, and Miuccia Prada.
Check out last year's red carpet pics. Who mastered the "China: Through the Looking Glass" theme the best?
