When I first saw the video for the Jonas Brothers' “Year 3000,” I was transported into their futuristic world and, consequently, one of my own imagination. But even in my wildest dreams, I never would have been able to conjure Megan Thee Stallion with blue frosted ombré lips that somehow feel like a relic from the past and a look from the future simultaneously.
On the 20th June, the Hot Girl Captain posted a few photos on Instagram to show off her metallic lips and new hair. Meg's makeup included some of her go-to staples, including a flawless base and voluminous, wispy lashes. She created the frosted lip using two Revlon products (Megan is a brand ambassador), which she revealed in the third slide. She didn't share specific shade names, but thanks to my superb sleuthing skills, I think I figured it out — she lined her lips with Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner, £5.65 most likely the blue shade Sapphire, before topping it with the Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss Pink Obsessed, £7.99 in the holographic hue Frost Queen. Meg used eyeliner for her look, but the NYX Professional Makeup Line Loud Vegan Longwear Lip Liner in Saw a Ghost Pepper works as a great substitute.
Frost Queen is a fitting name for this entire look, if you ask me, but Meg called it a blueberry lip in her photo caption. Another small detail I love is the singular silver gem on her cheekbone. I am a loyal fan of highlighter, but if Meg is skipping shimmer in favour of gems, I'm all on board. Her curls, which she recently has been wearing out a lot, were replaced with a long straight wig with thick bangs that ended at her eyelids — it's true, Wiggiana Meg is back.
Instagram content
It's no secret that I'm not-so-subtly obsessed with Megan Thee Stallion — once she realises that I'm the perfect woman for her, all will be well in the world — so I pay an ungodly amount of attention to her Instagram. I love her take on frosted lips, but I'm already not-so-patiently waiting for the next beauty moment.
Meg, if you're reading this, I'm officially shooting my shot (hey, don't judge me, it's Pride month). But more importantly, I would love to see you step into your Barbiecore bag with pink hair and makeup next.
