Margot Robbie may have the majority of the world's very best designers a her fingertips, but after a long-term relationship with Chanel since she became one of its brand ambassadors in 2018 and a string of seemingly endless pink outfits during a lengthy press campaign for last year's Barbie movie, it can be hard to pinpoint the Aussie actress's own personal style.
Which is why, when she was spotted running errands in Santa Monica this week in - wait for it - an oversized blazer and jeans, our fashion team took a collective gasp of joy.
This was Margot Robbie not in pink. This was Margot Robbie not in a dress. This was, in fact, just Margot Robbie, playing no other character but herself. And we'd argue that it's one of her best looks so far.
Let's be honest, Barbiecore was so last year...

But it wasn't until we got over the shock of the lack of saccharine shades that we noticed her nod to one of 2024's biggest fashion trends… Those pointed boots.
After years of the square toe reigning supreme, the latest runway shows - including those from Loewe, Prada, Versace, Huishan Zhang and Schiaparelli - have made a convincing case for the return of the point. From boots to courts, flats to heels, there's no denying that it's all about the point right now.
A stark contrast from her look earlier this week, Margot's oversized blazer and denim look was the anthesis of her red carpet appearance at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday night.
It's Barbie's world and we're just living in it.

While she may have bypassed her recent go-to shade of candy floss for the occasion, she did cleverly incorporate another hue in her Barbie-reference repertoire. Replicating 1996’s Radiant Rose Barbie, the skimming Balmain gown featured a three-dimensional, vivid rose embellishment across the neck and shoulders.
Of course there's no denying that she looks incredible in both of this week's high fashion moments. But we can't deny that we're excited by the idea that we might see more of Margot's personal, casual style in 2024. Because, let's face it, it's started off well…
