If you're looking for a fresh new wardrobe staple, looking back to trends from decades past might seem like an odd suggestion. But, as is proven with the latest Mango collection – and as contradictory as it sounds – there's nothing more refreshingly timeless than nostalgia.
Our collective thirst for all things nineties, specifically, is one of the most recurring trends in fashion, and with a proven record to stand the test of time it's one of the few decades you can feel sure will provide you with a long-standing staple.
Sure, we love an eighties power shoulder, a seventies platform shoe and a sixties miniskirt, but no other decade provides a plethora of trends that still feel contemporary quite like the nineties.
Launching it's ‘Heritage’ collection this week, Mango has paid tribute to the brand's archives by revisiting and recreating many of its most iconic looks and patterns from its own 90s archive. To add to the authenticity of the designs, the pieces will be labelled with an old Mango logo that is being re-used exclusively for this drop.
Of course this collection features a series of silhouettes that feel entirely current, thanks to our perpetual love of the nineties aesthetic.
From denim slip dresses to Capri pants, low-rise waists, super baggy jeans and even skirts over trousers, this collection is everything your nineties-loving heart desires. And then some.
Of course, they couldn't drop a nostalgic collection without a nod to the hottest shoe trend of the season…
