Dear 2017, this year you've whacked out some seriously odd denim trends including detachable shorts, suspender jeans and crotch zip jeans to name a few - when will it end?!

Not yet is the answer. Wearing two pairs of trousers at once is the latest denim trend that has us scratching our heads. It's EVERYWHERE at New York Fashion Week, and you know what? We kind of dig it.

The layered jeans and trousers were spotted on stylist Annina Mislin (above) and later on fashion editor and street style star Taylor Tomasi Hill (below).

To the naked eye they look like a DIY job from the stylish ladies, but they're actually a single trouser design from denim front-runners Maison Margiela. The low look trousers feature a high-waisted denim panel built in. Cool huh?!

Maison Margiela - lead under the creative guise of John Galliano - are leaders in inventive denim, and their pieces are often snapped in street style.

Will you be doubling up?
