You probably won't be mega surprised to hear that there's a new pastel mani that's leading the agenda for spring. Lavender milk nails are shaping up to be this season's biggest headliner, but when the trend is this pretty, we can definitely allow it.
Already, the mani has picked up a celebrity following. Just last month, Selena Gomez's long-time manicurist, Tom Bachik, shared that the singer has been leaning into the purple-y colour palette and elsewhere, our favourite nail artists have been stanning the shade. In fact, they tipped us off at the beginning of the year in our 2025 nail trend predictions.
“I think soft shades for 2025 will be big," international nail artist, Julia Diogo, forecast. "I’ve started to see some really beautiful milky lavender nails doing the rounds on Instagram. I think this is because a lot of people are loving the stripped back and minimal nail styles,” she explained.
What are lavender milk nails?
As for what, exactly, lavender milk nails are, they tap up delicate lavender shades but the mani is worn more subtly and sheered out.
That said, lavender is trending in general right now and we've seen it worn with modern jelly finishes, shimmery chromes, cat-eye, aura and as an accent or French tip.

Why wear lavender milk nails?
With the weather changing, we're embracing pastels again. Lavender milk nails offer a fresh, clean and neutral mani, but it sees a shift from the sheer pinks and nudes that have dominated the minimal mani space. “I believe lavender milk nails are trending because they're different than the usual nude and sheer shades, so it gives a slight edge,” explains pro manicurist, Mateja Novakovic. “Also, pastel lilac is one of the most beautiful shades for spring,” she adds.
