It's hard to forget Kate Middleton's first wedding dress. You know, the now iconic Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen number. Massive train, lace sleeves, lashings of silk? Swoon.

It's been nine years since that momentous occasion, and still we look back on it (the day and the dress) as being one of the most epic the royal family has ever seen.

But what about her second dress? It may have escaped you, but just like Meghan Markle whose jaw-dropping second look by Stella McCartney we loved even more than the first, the Duchess of Cambridge also changed out of her exquisite, iconic gown post-ceremony into a killer evening outfit.

Designed by the genius Sarah Burton once again, this dress - which was worn at the reception held at Buckingham Palace - was a little sexier than the first.

A strapless, satin gown with a statement-making diamanté waist belt, sweetheart neckline bodice and a flattering flared skirt. Never one to skip an extra accessory, the Duchess finished off her second bridal look with a soft, white cropped cardigan.

Kate's original wedding dress is no doubt the most well-known and quickly joined the ranks of the most famous royal wedding dresses ever. It was even treated to an exhibit at Buckingham Palace just a few months after the wedding took place. Featured featured in the palace's Ballroom during the annual summer opening, and was on display from July 22 through to October 3, 2011, and provided fans with an opportunity to marvel at the intricacy of the beautiful piece.

Not the only two dresses created by the British designer that day, Sarah Burton was also behind the much-loved gown worn by Kate's maid of honour and sister Pippa Middleton. Made of an ivory, satin-based crepe, the dress was a subtle mirror of the bride's own gown with the same buttons and lace trim.
