Kanye West presented his third catwalk show yesterday and, predictably, it gave the fashion world plenty to talk about.
Naturally, his second Yeezy collection attracted a star-studded front row. Kim Kardashian held North West on her lap (who although didn't cry like last season, did yell her mum's name throughout), while Anna Wintour sat next to her.
Impressively, they managed to coordinate what they were wearing to be the same camel-coloured shade. Debbie Harry, Courtney Love, Lorde, Riccardo Tisci, Jaden Smith, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Seth Meyers and 2 Chainz were also among the audience.
But to the collection. Strangely, for a show that was intended to unveil West's new Adidas trainers, there were remarkably few to see. As always with West, there was a message and this season it was, admirably, about the democratisation of fashion.
The industry has been criticised for not being racially diverse enough and West countered that yesterday by using models from different ethnic backgrounds, shapes and sizes, each wearing military-esque parkas, leggings and hoodies. They were arranged into cult-like, military squadrons, with one model designated as the leader, barking orders to the rest of their troop.
