It’s Joever. The Kamala Harris memes have begun.

Joseph R. Biden Jr., 46th president of the United States, took the world by surprise by announcing (on a Sunday!) that he would not be continuing his presidential campaign. Faced with mounting pressure to drop out by an aggregate of prominent party leaders (reportedly including former president Barack Obama), actor George Clooney, and Gen-Zers with internet access, President Biden has potentially blown the 2024 presidential race wide open a few weeks away from the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He has officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, posting that he wants to “offer [his] full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of [the] party this year.”

The internet was waiting. Posters first jumped aboard after watching Biden’s disastrous performance in the first presidential debate. They have been becoming “unburdened by what has been”; they have been looking for “what can be”; they have been posting about coconut trees and contexts for weeks now. The VP’s now famous quote, a lesson she recalls her Indian immigrant mother gave to her, “‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?’ You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you,” has become somewhat of a rallying cry for people who wanted a change-up in the 2024 ticket.

And of course, the subject of many, many, Kamala Harris memes. Here’s our round-up of the best coconut-pilled, context-filled, unburdened posts about the increasingly likely prospect that Harris will become the nominee.
