Put a finger down if you’re ready to embrace “toasted” nails as the go-to manicure for fall. Tom Bachik, manicurist to stars like Jennifer Lopez and Selena Gomez, is going all in on making this the It look of Q4 2025, one star at a time, and TBQH, it’s working.

Gomez was the first to wear the style, which is basically bronzer for your fingertips, not a colour so much as a sheen. “Think golden, bronzed, and toasted,” Tom told Glamour. “Ask for or use pearlescents, iridescence, mirror chromes, even cat-eye effects to make any colour toasted.”

One important point: This doesn’t have to be the most high-effort manicure in the world. If you’re over long nails like Lopez’s squoval shape, consider keeping your nails on the shorter side. “Nail shapes are trending shorter and more square, which is interesting because normally, as we transition into fall and winter, nails get longer,” Tom revealed to Glamour. “I think maybe with all the craziness happening in the world right now, minimalism in beauty feels like a nice balance. We still want to feel beautiful, but not in a ‘look at me’ sort of way.”

One person who has never heard of low effort? Jennifer Lopez. By October 6, she had already changed her nails again. Welcome to her plum era.
