Jennifer Lopez is fast becoming our favourite manicure muse. Perhaps it's because she leans into soft, delicate designs like the ethereal fairy nails she wore to the final practice before Saudi Arabia's F1 Grand Prix.
Or maybe it's the clever twists on a classic nude that hit the sweet spot between capturing our imagination and adding just the right amount of sparkle, but still being office appropriate.
Either way, she's just served up another lust-worthy manicure courtesy of her long-time nail artist Tom Bachik for the American Music Awards (AMAs) on 26 May. In an Instagram post, Tom detailed the “Astral Flash Mani” he created to match J.Lo's performance look, which he described as “a futuristic crystal covered circuit board. So Sik!”.

Tom namechecks the Apreś Astral Flash Gel in Santo My Palo as his go-to shade for her eight outfit changes, which he kept as a sheer wash on the nails.
Polishes in the Apreś Astral collection are inspired by either fire, water, earth or air elements. Santo My Palo can best be described as an other-worldly nude shade with multicoloured, glittery flecks suspended in the gel that reflect light for a mega-watt sparkle.
In particular, the nail colour was the perfect match to the crystal-embellished, nude bodysuit Jennifer Lopez wore to open the AMAs, when she performed a blockbuster medley of last year's biggest hits. It also picked out the Swarovski crystals on the plunging Miss Sohee halter-neck gown, and the sparkling metallic dress with ab-revealing cutouts, that she wore for her hosting duties.
Sadly the Apreś Astral collection is currently only available in the US but good alternatives to try at home include OPI Nature Strong Natural Nail Lacquer in Mind Full of Glitter, Manucurist Green Natural Nail Polish in Gold, Nails Inc HD Glitter Power Pigment Polish in Always Electric and Rimmel Glitter Top Coat Nail Polish in 019 Disco Diva.
In terms of length, Tom says “Jen’s loving a longer nail right now but not too long” so when recreating the look, stick to a medium length squoval nail shape – and consider adding a manifesting mantra to your mani to tap into J.Lo's celestial vibes.
